General build queue options
We are near building a second base, and I wanted to know what your thoughts are on whether we have a generic build queue for all bases we found under normal circumstances.

For instance, our build queue in New Apolyton might end up being Garrison/Colony Pod/Former. Should we keep this formula for all future bases that don't need extra defense (ie more early garrisons), aren't in extra productive terrain (ie more formers) or otherwise?

Anyway, in this thread I'd like to hear whether we should adopt a common queue for all bases from now, and exceptions to the rule are just that. Also, what should this generic queue be?

i like the NA queue for everother base but it doenst matter really for me so be my guest and make a general queue it makes everthing much simpler when we have 12 to 16 bases or so

My vote is Garrison/Pod/Former/Recycling Tanks. With all those untis, we will need some extra minerals by then.

Former/Whatever would be my proposal. I would go for rushing the former and perhaps sending a scout patrol with our CP, eliminating the need for building an expensive garrison in our brand new base.

Sending a scout with the CP? Good idea Maniac, when would you build the escort? Before or after the CP?

If a base completes a CP, I would send the current garrison of that base with our new CP. The old base would then start building a new garrison. That would leave the old base defenseless for a short time, but as it would be in the middle of our territory the danger of an enemy/mindworm attack would be much less than for a new base.

So perhaps Former/?/CP/Scout patrol/CP/Scout Patrol... could be my desired build queue. "?" stands for whatever is considered needed at that particular time. A second former, an extra scout unit, a rec tanks...

For the general build queue after we have already settled a few bases: yes after the first CP the base builds its first own-produced garrison. Before that garrion duty is provided by men born in another base.

For the first few bases I would of course suggest another build queue, but that's not the point of this thread.

I think this is a superb idea. We can even initiate bits of it for the second base - Scout as Garrison, then Former, CP, new Garrison...

This idea seems to be a well supported one, so I hope to put up a longer (5-6 days) poll sometime soon on the three suggested queues (plus any others). We don't need a general queue for a while, and I want everyone to look at the options here and see if they can come up with something better or agree with one already here.
