Gigamap 2194 Days Of War
Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone would still be interested in me finishing up a playable version of the 2194 Gigamap PBEM game.

Please respond here, and I could have it ready in a week!

Good, at least someone responded, is this how dead it always is now??

I'll try to do as much as I can in the upcoming days/weeks.

Academia, would you be able to help by playtesting agianst me?

It would be a big job as you would have to control either the Axis (Japan, Germany) or the Allies (US, UK, China, Russia)

Let me know please.

That's because PBEM now has its own forum.

Maybe this can be moved to the PBEM-forum? Tech, Leo?

Russia here, but I think we should start a new thread at PBEM (the mods probably won't do it)

Well Pap, one more time I have to point out that the lands surrounding Buenos Aires are not deserts!!!

I understand that you didn´t create this map, but that´s wrong. Deserts near Parana River????
The creator of the map should look a southamerican map.

*The Wehrmacht have a move of 0, that can't be right.

*Soviet is really too strong, it took me about my entire army group center to capture Kursk. (In single-player, don't get your hopes up, Darius)

*What's the deal with those damn forts?

Are you looking at the units themselves, or the civpedia? Because (for some reason) I don't think the civpedia's movement values have ever been trustworthy in a scenario.

As for the forts, they are only in cities which were historically really tough nuts, such as Moscow, Leningrad, and Stalingrad. It's for historical accuracy that you have to take heavy casualties to take these cities.

I will fix the deserts in Buenos Aires, sorry about that, and I know about the rice paddies in the arctic, it is just because I replaced the polar ice caps witht he rice paddies to be made useful.

There should be no forts in Kursk, there are only forts in Stalingrad, Leningrad, and Moscow. Germany never conquered them in real life, so I decided it should be incredibly tough to take them in the scenario.

About the whermacht moving 0, i need to check that, it is not right.

They're there for the reasons Pap stated; I just thought I'd also mention that they aren't unbeatable. Usually they take around 7 or 8 field artillery, 3-4 SIG-IB artillery units, or 3-4 Ju-88 bombers, all three of which you can build. This historically recreates the kind of losses that occurred in those three cities.

There is also one in Gorky, and there are several in the Soviet Far East. I thought you agreed a long time ago to remove those particular ones.

He's wrong, they have movements of 1 but the civpedia says 0. That happens all the time.

I started a new post in the PBEM forum here...

http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=64221

I am going to remove all but 1 from the Soviet Far East, just to try to simulate how afraid of Zhukov the Japanese were...

Should I remove the one from Gorkiy too?

I would say so. I agree with you on the other 4, but Gorky's a bit much.

BTW, which fort remains in the east? The one in Vladivostok, or one of the RR forts, or what?

Most likely one of the RR ones, unless you think it should be Vladivostok?

Nah, that's good. I was actually going to say keep the RR ones but get rid of the Kharbarovsk and Vladivostok ones. That's a bit more accurate; the Japs could probably sieze the cities quickly but they would get beat in the field.
