I got spammed to death by the AI
I fired up a simultaneous 8 civ game, myself against 7 civs.
i shared the island with the aztecs, who I was in the process of destroying with my mounted warriors, when I am contacted by the remaining 6 civs. Each of them wanted to trade maps, while I was at war. I had to click ok, ok okokokokokok hurridly, to get back to the main map and the war. very annoying. It caused me to lose several MWs to counterstrikes before I could close all the windows. Ii recall discussion about this tactic from firaxis, its interesting that the AI does it to the human (knowingly or unknowingly) very frustrating. by the time I eliminated the ztecs, I was way behind in techs and everything else and quit.
simul mode is exhausting, not for the faint of heart

So is this turnless mode?
I thought you could not play turnless mode against the AI opponents...?

The diplomacy splat can be frustrating.

Yes. Very annoying as things are happening in the background.
and since the AI can do things without thinking, makes it more difficult.

This is why I'm a "Turn-Based" baby...
I haven't tried the simultaious/turnless mode yet...it just scares me - reminds me too much of that Microsoft game, Age of Empires...talk about a "click-fest!"

I figured the flutter of diplomacy windows would be annoying in Simul or Turnless. Although you do have the option of ignoring for 20 turns instead of closing a bunch of windows all the time, you don't always want to do that, either.
Put this on the list of "MP etiquette" that everyone I play will have to follow.
