That's probably why ming didn't close/move this thread. I too want to hear what our experienced CIVII MP players think without wading through all the other **** that will probably be found in the other forum. I'll probably try to buy it this weekend. We'll see.

If it pains you too much I will summarise.

Buggy net code.......but most report fewer problems in smaller games.

Turnless mode is fast-paced.

People have started to complain about quitters.

I've got it, but haven't ventured into GameSpy(ware) yet.

They have improved upon SP, so I guess it's worth the money. I am anxiously awaiting the direct IP patch though.

uh , why are we not getting the game as one release, its silly to have to pay twice for a game, just to make it better in SP mode

they did this to us with civ2 and with civ net, though the latter is understandable.....

It doesn't even really matter that the MP isn't working because the game still sucks. It still takes forever to research techs, there's still an enormous corruption rate so there will always be a cap on cities, maps are still horrible and will start you next to a sea of swamps or forest, and the list goes on and on. It was a bad game to begin with and MP hasn't made any improvements. I've already uninstalled everything having to do with civ3 from my computer.

Ok, your opinion has been noted. And I guess since you're uninstalling everything that has to do with it, that you won't be forming any new opinions on it, so anything further you have to say will be boring repitition of what you already have said.

While I suspect that you may be right, I will form my own opinion. Most of the problems I had with the game related to the AI. So, MP with no AI's actually makes me think that there is hope. We'll see if others, including myself, agree with you after further research.

Shut the **** up, I'll say what I want. And the game was geared towards making the AI harder by hampering and handicapping the human. The entire game is geared towards the lesser player. It's like playing deity only 10 times worse.

Well the pace of PTW world info from the civ3MP forum is very slow.........I guess many are unwilling to be MP guinea pigs.

And the pace of this forum is very slow too - which suggests a few people are play testing it.

Can we have some reports please? I read there are work arounds for the mp problems.

I was going to get it last weekend, but with all the reports of problems, it ceased to be a priority. Maybe this weekend.

In other words we're all going to go out and buy it in spite of its faults because of the civ tragics that we are
