Problems installing mods - can someone help me?
Hello! I've recently decided to start playing CTP2 again and try out some mods. I have no problem installing the patch or modswapper, but everytime I try to install the Craddle mod, disaster strikes. All the files get extracted to the ctp2_data\default file and when I try to play the mod, I get endless slc errors. An example chosen at random is ctp2_data\default\gamedata\CAI_ComImpSForAIsslc.24 0: No function named TileHasImprovement

That's an example, the errors apply to most everything in the mod.

These errors also prevent me from playing the default game, so I have to delete the entire program and reinstall to do even that.

Anyone know what is going on?

A classic case of Patch-Didn't-Install-Properly. I'm not sure why though.

What OS are you using, and what language version of the game?

I'm using WindowsME and the English version.

I've made several attempts at this, and got the same result. Would it be easier to just re-download the patch?

Probably. It might be a screwed up installer on WinME.

Do you have the game in default directories?

Yes, I left everything in the default directories when I installed the game.

I re-installed the patch, and this time it worked. Thanks for your help!

I'm assuming you did this too...

You need to make the following change in the userprofile.txt file located in the following directory Activision\Call To Power 2\ctp2_program\ctp

Look for the line
DebugSlic=Yes

and change it to
DebugSlic=No

Oddly enough when I checked the userprofile, it was already switched to no.

I have no idea what I was originally doing wrong, but since things worked out I guess I'll never know!

btw hexagonian, great mod!
