How to place civs? and some other questions?

Please could someone tell me how to place civs on the maps (tried but failed), also, is there any world map with correct starting positions?, and for Europe?, and anyone knows if the Mediterranean MOD is an scenario or how it works?

You must place a starting location on the map in the editor. Then, you can right-click on the starting location, which brings up a menu, then choose "reassign". There will be a drop down list of all the civs names
