ahh I crushed my first human opponent today
Bring it on!!!

even though I had a tough time keeping up with the quick timer on simultaneous moves. It was great. My rapid expanion won the game. I had like 12 cities against 3.

Of course he left the game. My score was off the charts which seems weird.

Any challengers? I'm feeling good

I had to shut down zone alarm to get it to work and it was laggy as hell which was frustrating.

So post here if you want to get your ass beat by me.

I think you get 10000 points for killing an opponent in MP.

well he left the game before I could get his last two cities. I ended up with a score of about 6600.

Actually 2 other players left early on because the game was running too slow with 4 players. But it was playable with 2.

Sounds kinda like "pick-up" games are going to be an awful lot like Warcraft.

I'm glad people that like fast-paced clickfests have a flavor of Civ to play now, but I chose a Turn Based game because I like the Strategy part.

The more the merrier and to each his own, though.
Glad to see someone having fun with MP.

well I have to admit it felt like a RTS. I don't even like RTS. I never have enough time to move all my units. This game was similar.

I only went to war with horseman because the other player didn't want to play long. I was increasing my point lead, and he knew it I'm sure.

But I would prefer a turn based game even if it takes 6 hours

Try no timer on Simult. Some turns just require more time than even a slow clock will give you.

Simult with no timer speeds the game along by letting you both play at once. Be prepared to wait a little for the bigger player and the host though.

It is the only way to play 'real' civ with the new rules.

true, while you benefit from faster pace of new style gaming, u can get all the time u need with the no timer mode just like in turn based. It's alittlbe bit of goodness from the both worlds.. i like that

btw waiting for big players to finsih should be as bad since in turn mode, youd be waiting for his entire turn anyway. whiel as in simul, u are doing something during that fractio of the time.

If you are in simultaneous mode, do you have to be really quick about making sure your Archer/Longbowman/Horseman gets to attack instead of defend?

Or do you just send spearmen/pikemen with every single attack force?
