Got mine, nicely zipped, and forwarded to the home account. I should have time to open it tonight, hope to post polls tomorrow.

Overall, the Science Ministry notes that we are moving forward as planned. Got Magellan's per request of the ppl. Bridge Building a good start toward RR. Chemistry will be needed too.

Can we assume Physics was not offered???? I know we have Navigation, and I assume we have Literacy ... and those are the only requirements iirc.

Physics is required both for Frigate/Galleon and toward RR/Darwin's, so that's clearly our next goal.

Excellent round of play, Hydey.

Oh, and can you tell us what the Happiness situation is like and if any Lux adjustments were made?

The people demand screenshots

How was the transition to demo? Did we have to change workers, rushbuild happy improvements, etc?

It was not offered the first time around and we got it from the celts prior to the next offering

I will be posting screenshots tonight.

PHYSICS IS OURS!!

Excellent, Hydey!

Assuming our goals are still Railroad (Darwin's) and Explosives (Engineers), our choices are now simpler --Feudalism, Magnetism, Steam Engine, Metallurgy, Th. of Gravity, maybe Theology... What am I forgetting?

And what will we need after that? (Freights and Transports!!)

Another good session by President Hydey (now truly "president" in both senses)!

A few questions:

1. I notice we got maps from the Mongols. Have we given our own maps to them (or anyone else)? I'm not sure if you meant that they gifted us maps or if we traded maps.

2. Are you going to gift more technology to the Mongols to try out that "Key Civ" idea? They have considerably fewer than we do (37 vs 25, or something like that). It might reduce our research rate a lot to give them more.

3. We seem to be building way more Caravans than the Citizens voted for in the last poll. Will city production be changed over to Marketplaces and Libraries now that our trade arrows are high in Democracy? Or perhaps Colliseums to make those unhappy citizens (due to ships at sea) content?

JRabbit-
Leadership is also available, but I don't think we will be needing it soon. (Although, it would pump the barbs up, increasing incursions on the weak civs.)

@ Celts

Hydey-
We need to finish our marketplaces and libraries. This will enrich our civ while increasing our tech lead dramatically. This is more important than camel breeding since we do not need another wonder right now. The cities that finish can switch back to caravans.

After that we can

1. I know how to exchange maps, not how to obtain them as a gift !
2. I hate Collisea : they cost a lot in maintenance !
Markets and Libs are enough good for science and happiness, with an appropriate luxury level.

The path is clear, but don't forget the techs which allow an upgrading of units as long as Leo's is available (freight, transport, cavalry and spy).

I've never seen an unhappy citizen become content by building a Marketplace and/or a Library. Perhaps it would happen in Democracy because of the extra trade arrows, though. I always have Marketplaces and Libraries everywhere before I get to Democracy, so I'm not sure.

In Republic building markets increased happyness and brought peace to a few cities, so I would assume there is some benefit in Demo as well.

How can you determine that? I'm curious (because I do not know)?

YES, market place give trade (then research) and happiness, so banks do.
Library has no effect on happiness, only on research rate.

Take a saved game, experiment in a few large cities, noting what combination of specialists and Elvii you need to get what combination of happy/ content/ unhappy citizens, then sell some of the Marketplaces & Banks.

See them riot before your very eyes!
