We've had a sudden, though not unexpected, death in the family and I'll be away until the end of August. I'm going to try to get set up on another computer but I think it's a long shot.

I'm back and I've sent the turn.
It's ironic that it takes funerals to get family together. I wound up talking to cousins I haven't seen in years!
Hopefully, things should be back to normal for the next couple of months.

i solved the problem, it has something to do with me having installed the CFC GotM (game of the month) graphics packs, they have somehow corrupted my japanese leaderhead from both 1.21 and 1.27 installs.
i'll do an uninstall and reinstall for my 1.27 tomorrow and it should then work. Sorry for the delay but i've recently had loads of real life stuff to do and im again totally exhausted for today

Hm. The leaderheads were not the problem after all. Sure, they were corrupted and i didnt see them, but even after complete reinstall and trying the game with my friends PC, i must say that we have again a crappy diplomacy bug in our hands: everytime i try to negotiate the "active" deals with japanese - game crashes, everytime i try to check "details" in the f4 screen - game crashes
Sure, i can play the turn without doing the diplo part, but it benefits you who are about to attack me with those samurai stacks. I would have cancelled the luxury deal thus possibly rendering some of your cities in disorder, and adjusted my own slider to keep folks happy, but now i cant
I'll just go to play the turn, but this does not make me very happy about these continuing bugs in PBEM games which Firaxis never bothers to fix

sent to the allied attackers inc.
BtW : if you choose not to attack yet - AND you can get to the diplo screen - please cancel all active deals with me that you can, because i would have done so, but could not do that because of the bug.

I sent you email .. but I am confirming that I could not get into the diplo screen without it crashing.
I see only 1 solution.
Disbanding of all English cities, and allowing my samuri to raze your capital
Good luck..but I do hope the RNG godz smile upon me.

I don't seem to be having problems with the diplo. myself. I'm still running 1.21.

soltz, could you also move to 1.27 version ? if it would correct some of the bugs i and enamel have in this game. you can do that with no problems because all other people you play games with will not be affected, because 1.27 is downwards compatible with 1.21 as you have noticed since i have used 1.27 for a long time already
btw. sorry for the delay, but i keep getting 100 to 400 virus spam email messages a day to my mail addresses, and it takes time to always set the filters to block the new spam addresses and subjects. grr these email viruses drive me nuts

According to my 'outbox' I sent the 730 AD turn to you on the 12th. I'm posting it here just in case the email is acting up again.
