Oh yeah I know, my governement is Fascism... it's my mod but, that's make me that even when I play default Civ3 PTW.

You need to enable font-smoothing. This is enabled differently depending on your OS. For example, in Win2K, right-click on your desktop, select properties, select Effects, and make sure "Smooth edges of screen fonts" is checked. I believe the location is the same in Win9x and WinME. In WinXP, I believe you have to click the Advanced button on one of the property pages and select the default font smoothing option.

What the he**!?!

The "CD Copy Protection" thread has been brewing for over a week, without a comment at all from Firaxis... not to diminish the "font smoothing" issue or anything (and, I do think it's very cool of them to answer this promptly), but wouldn't it be nice to have a Firaxis representative weigh in on one of the hotter topics here?

thanks for reminding me about font smoothing, wow, what a difference that makes.

now if only i could get the game out of slow motion (again)
