java moo - races screen
Attached is the MOO races screen which allows you to get a summary of your relations which each of the contacted races. The spy sliders & treaty information are all functional, but they are defaulting to their starting values in this shot.
Instead of a "Report" button, I've created a separate tab for each race that will have the report information and the "Audience" feature. I'll probably work on that sometime this weekend.
I'm getting close to coding the various Diplomatic interactions (treaties, trades, etc) and looking forward to it, although I expect it to be quite involved.

Wow, you could have up to a total of ten players? Cool!

Actually, stuff like that is quite easy to add.
If you guys want bigger maps (another easy change), I simply need more star names. I think I've pulled out all of them from MOO. Maybe someone can compile a list of star names from MOO2? I'd rather use names from the "MOO universe" just to keep things consistent...
Also, if anyone can get screen captures to work with the original MOO (I can't get it to work on XP), please email me if you'd like to lend me a hand with something.

The main things I need are:
Diplomatic screen for each race (where the player is talking to them).
A simple "mugshot" for each race (the setup screen would be a good place for that)
A capture for each ship design........ I'll need this for the colony & combat screens. You could snap six at a time from the ship design screen.
That's a lot of screens, I know... Trust me, I'd do it if I could get the screen capture to work on XP.

Well I just failed to capture at all wit HyperSnap. I went to their tech page and found that they can not do DOS games. The admin said that he was not aware of any tools to do this, any ideas?

Thanks. Yesterday my brain started functioning and I remembered that my kids' computer runs Windows ME. So I tried to get a screen capture there and it worked perfectly!
In other words, I'm all set for screen captures.
The Planets screen was more work than I thought because Java does not provide sorting tables out of the box. I had to write my own. Now that the holidays are over, I'm guessing another couple of nights before that is done and I can start working on diplomacy.
