Have England and Canada produced a single good band between them since the Beatles?
What happened to British music since the Beatles? Their most well-known musicians right now in America are Dirty Vegas () and Craig David () Are you guys making good music but not exporting it? Or are these people actually your best musicians?

Canada... gosh, where to start. Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Nelly Furtado, and Celine Dion. The worst names in music all seem to call Canada home. (Nickelback is okay, but other than that... ) Has Canada actually ever been home to a good band?

Now I'm beginning to remember those good British punk and classic rock bands. But we still get a lot of your awful pop singers. American pop isn't great, but British is just atrocious.

Canada produced Buffalo Springfield and Neil Young. Does Jaguar Warrior actually listen to music?

Canada, with a few glorious exceptions like Mitchell and Young, have always been a C-List nation musically.

Britain is certainly much overrated, and have produced vicious amounts of sheer crime against music from Yes to Radiohead, but tends to show occasional flashes of brilliance (although nothing interesting really for the past twenty years or so, except possibly Primal Scream and The Smiths)*. But yeah, on my personal list of top 200 artists or so since 1970 at the very least John Cale**, T-Rex, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, X-Ray Spex, The Undertones***, The Smiths and the aforementioned Scream would have a place. I think.

Anyway, it doesn't matter since the US is a vastly superior country in every way, by far the #1 producer of great music in the history of pop. I mean, the output of Soul alone puts all british music in the shade.

Me being a big-time country fan, and rock fan, and somewhat of a pop fan... Shania Twain still country singer, but on a fast trace to pop...

I don't particularly care for her, but her album "Come on Over" has sold over 36 million copies (the most ever for a female artist of any genre) and her next one, "The Woman in Me", over 18 million. It seems some people think she's good.....

radiohead is a great band but "blatently the greatest band of all time", thats a reach.

let them break up first and stand the test of time

theyve "produced' some great bands that outpass the beatles by miles (althoiugh that depents on taste)

but recently they were overun by gay twts.

like the manchester scene,

there were the stone roses but then there were the inspiral carpets to be degrated completely into the whats their name... PARK LIFE! not to mention oasis *pukes*

but they have a huge number of outstanding bands if you like this music

then you have punk and theres no comparison... except for NY punk but its almnost a different genre alltogether...

in general id say that british music reaches its highest when they "melt" with that sout american blues somehow and get that european/rythm thing out of them

now of course the UK will always be top in those who like that kind of foreign music like myself.

led zepelin jesus and mary chain, i would even go as far as to mention the pulp

but when their charts are dominated by FREEEEAK LIKE ME and such extrament what do expect?

in general thoiugh and lately, the US will produce a far more quantity good music. trhe brits ver seldomly anymore.

but when they do, boy, it is really outstanding and a special treat (for the guy who doesn listen to greek music such as myself)

also their media build up idols to send them down in ashes later on.

it happened to the stone roses did it not? and to others.
