Yay, World Conquest
Australia's my puppet and everyone else is my ally. No, I am not going to try going for an EU2 style world conquest even though it might actually be pleasant in HOI.

I thought so, but I didn't think it would be that easy to conquer all that territory from the Allies.

It'd be very difficult to do that in 1.02. you get 10% dissent for going to war with a country who you don't have claims on, and 5% for a country that you do have claims on.

Much easier to just kill the big guys and coup the rest.

Edit: and it's all around much more difficult now aswell, with the bug fixes, improvements, and AI tweaks.

I'm in a "Very Hard" 1.02 game as France right now.

I beat the original Axis of Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, and Spain within about 3/4 a year. Germany's war in Poland gave me numerical superiority on the Western front, and it was only a matter of time till their armies were encircled and destoryed. Though mountainous Austria and the Sudetenland was rather annoying. I moved onto Italy afterwards, and conquered them soon enough.

Then I declared war on, and conquered the "Paternal Autocratic" Baltic and Balkan states (since I apparantly, sometimes, have dissent-free declarations of war against them). Then I conquered fascist Portugal. Then PA Siam.

In '42, I was itching to get in a war with the Soviets, but didn't quite have numerical superiority, and I needed enough juice to cross the entire Soviet Union. But I realized the Soviets were at war with the Axis. So, I decided to declare war against PA Persia to force them into the Axis, and therefore draw the bulk of the Red Army South. The gambit worked, and I subsequentely declared war against the Soviet Union (albeit with a hefty 40% dissent penalty). With at least a 3-1 local numerical superiority, not to mention a huge technological superiority, I was able to destroy their entire garrison, and take the entire Soviet West pretty quickly. And I beat off the re-inforcements which were suffering from lack of supply (given that I occupied the Soviet supply centers), annexing it eventually.

Then, in '44, I decided to take out Japan, which had swallowed China. Landing a couple armor groups with a couple tactical bomber groups supporting them, I was able to eventually take them out given my technological lead. China was harder, though. Meanwhile, I noticed Finland went PA, so I conquered them with my relatively paltry Western garrison. Japan surrendered eventually, with myself gaining basically everything but their smaller pacific territories which went to the US. Then I conquered the PA Carribean (Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic). Then PA Argentina. Then PA Brazil.

Now, in mid '46, I should get nukes by the end of the year, and am building up a huge V-2 stockpile (my manpower is limited since I'm France, obviously, so I can't afford to build limitless panzer divisions like the US can). I outnumber their armour at least 3-1, but they have way more infantry than I do. It won't be a pretty war...

Ah, finished the US off just in time. Interestingly enough, right before I annexed them, they just turned Stalinist (I suppose since they weren't able to put any industrial production into consumer goods, so the dissent went through the roof). Although, as a rule I only attacked non-"democratic" states, I invaded and puppeted "Centrist" India after she declared independence (I can't let those dirty anti-imperialists set an example for the subjects of my glorious empire ). I would've annexed India, but for some odd reason the territory went to the UK instead of France (even though the UK hadn't conquered/supplied the conquests for an inch of the country). My allies are Britain and Commonwealth, Belgium, Luxemburg, Estonia, and India. And that is India which has annexed the Eastern end of Indonesia, not New Zealand (Japan conquered it from the Netherlands, the US conquered it from Japan, and India conquered it from the US).

The game looks too easy.

Have you tried multiplayer?

I agree that it's currently too easy, but it's much better than before. I think a major problem is the AI's army composition - not enough armor is being built. When I invaded the US for instance, its land forces were only about 10-20% armor. I on the other hand had about 60% armor, and a higher proportion of armor than that actually got to the American front. I initially faced some stiff resistance (I had a front front from Eastern Washington to Eastern Texas that I couldn't move lasting a few months), but when I destroyed the front, there wasn't much more to resist me. Of course, the US built around 3 or 4 hundred militia divisions, but I nuked at least 150 of them into oblivion, and only several [super-heavy 120 mm] panzer divisions were regularly able to cut thourgh a militia force 15 times as large like hot butter.

No, I haven't tried multiplayer yet.

It's incredibly fun annexing Poland

Oh, be nice. Don't make me conquer the Soviets as Latvia.
