orbital installations
I thought I knew this game inside and out, but a recently came across something new...
Yang kept destroying my orbital improvments as quickly as I threw them up. How does one attack an enemy's orbital installations, and how does one defend one's own from enemy destruction?

Build Orbital Defense Pods and keep attacking their pods. I haven't ended up in a war in space in any of my games so I don't know if they can attack your satellites as soon as they reach orbit or if they have to wait a turn.

In one of my early games with smac the same thing happened to me with a faction that was even in power with me. You have to have orbital def pods to attack another orbital facility of any kind. Go into satelite list screen(F5, I think) and select orbital attack view and then you can select who and what you want to attack. There is a 50% success rate on attacks, however if it fails the attacker pod is lost, also it cannot defend against PB's for that turn. If I remember right, they attacked the same turn they built them, but normally kept a couple to protect against counter PB attack from me.

Thank you very much. Your information will help to save thousands of lives. Yang's days of destroying OD pods and then attacking with planetbusters will soon come to an end. thanks again...
