beginner question
This is SOOO basic....can SMAC run in a window? Can you minimize the game? If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. thanks....grouch

As far as I know you can't minimize SMAC or run it in a window.

You can ALT-Tab out of SMAC, which will give you access to your taskbar. If you have no other application open to switch to, CTRL-ESC or the Windows key will do the trick (by opening the start menu)

Edit: That won't let you see your desktop, if that's what you trying to do.

As far as I know, there is no way to run it in a window (although if SMAC is at 800x600 and you switch resolution to 1024x768 (via control panel), you'll see SMAC in a window, but you can't move/resize it so it's pretty useless anyway. Note: this happened to me once while running the game on NT4 - I never actively tested that stuff.
