Enough of this esoteric crap...time to restart the wonder wars
Favorite wonders:

1. If you only could have one which one would you want?

2. If you have many, which is the one you least want to lose?

3. And which has the coolest music

4. Best video?

1. Only one: SOL (for early fundy...diety problems solved)

2. One least want to lose if I have many...ummm Idonno (Mikes?)

3. music: Adam Smith's

4. video: United Nations (or Darwin)

Harumph! Fundy is a cop-out, especially for SP. The most unbalanced thing in Civ2.

The answer is Bach, Bach, Bach, and Bach! JSBach is the greatest musician ever. Consequently, Sid made it the best Wonder. Wouldn't want to lose it. Starring his music, the video is best. Of course.

1. HG. I have had real trouble getting out of the early game without it.
2. Newton (because if I lose that it means I lose Colossus, Copernicus and Shakespeare )
3. Manhattan has the coolest music. It seems kind of groovy and incongruous with the wonder itself. Magellan is a close second.
4. Video... Women's Suffrage.

I didn't think units became vets with Sun Tzu unless they won a battle...

They're vet when you build em, but if you upgrade em with leos the units turn non-vet. Then you need to win a battle for promotion.

Hey, this is supposed to be "Wonder Wars." We're should be saying things like, "SG(2) is a doofus for liking anything whatsoever about the Eiffel Tower Wonder. Silliest in the game." Or, "Hah! My Colossus farts in the general direction of your HG!"

Stew Spink is a real wussie. He thinks that Pyramids are bad at diety. Unless you have multiple blackheads requiring flash temples, you're not really expanding enough.

And anybody who likes HG more than Pyramids is too concerned about their maggot's (I mean citizen's happiness). I enjoy their discomfort.

How long has it been since you built Oracle or GL??? In the three years I've been absorbing the wisdom on offer here, my gameplay has tended away from building (as opposed to capturing) many WOW. Also, I usually play w/o the disk. So I looked at each of them for the sake of rememberance. The wonder movies are a really cool feature of this incomparable game!!! Think I'll use the disk again.

1) Cope's
2) Cope's or Mike's Chapel
3) Bach's...Eiffel Tower
4) early--HG
mid--SoL (Mother Liberty rocks--thanks La Fayette)
late--Apollo
And the Landing on AC video still gives me chills.

Monk - if you copy the video directory from your disk to the HDD under the civ folder you can enjoy the vids without the disk...
