Since MOO3 is still being developed...
...what features should we lobby to have put in?

I want to be able to choose what color I play with and to have a GOOD online chat engine during multiplayer.

Whats on your wish list?

I don't understand why they cut them. I figured all you would have to do is have them flash on screen someplace, randomly choose a target, and either attack it until it was destroyed or sit there nesting. Maybe we'll get this as a patch, eh?

I own both moo1 and moo2, and will buy moo3, question, will there be a trilogy box set? it would be nice to get another manual for my moo1, I have to remember the ship names for the copy protection. And yes, I would drop the $$$ in a heartbeat to buy all 3 in a trilogy box set.

If they did do a trilogy set, it would be released well after MoO3 by itself, at least 6 months after at the absolute minimum.

I agree with wanting to choose what color your empire is.

I'm sure that they're not taking much outside input. I'd hesitate to say they're still "developing" MoO3, rather they are still pruning the design, removing rather than adding features.

I'd like to see some sort of astromechanic-type tech. Imagine if you could push a planet in your system into a more hospitable orbit. Or, for the more devious, push someone else's planet out of an acceptable orbit. I can see it now... I need the mineral resources on the planet but don't feel like carpet bombing the planet so I just nudge the planet in towards the sun a few thousand miles, burn everyone to a crisp, then push it back. Ready for colonization!!!

I quite more interested in being able to modify the came...especially graphics from background artwork to starship designs.... Should be possible to add in Startrek or Starwars or Babylon 5 ships, and so on

I think they're just running around with a fly swatter killing bug, not adding new features or changing old ones.

That's probably true, but wouldn't it be nice if QS happened to stroll past this thread as they begin to debate working up a patch? Who's to say they may not add a feature or two as a nod to loyal fans...

oh, changes in a patch are certainly possible... but right now I think they're focusing on bugs (or at least I hope they are)

Indeed that is correct.

With CIV3, one example of a game change made in a patch was when they changed Privateers (pirate ships) from 1/1 to 2/1. There have been many others.

In MOO2, they changed some of the values for race picks in patches.

New features? Possibly .. but don't be surprised if they decide to have an expansion pack. There might be space monsters in the upcoming MOO3 expansion "Revenge of the Space Monsters: We're back and we're NOT HAPPY."

I hope to all that's holy that they are not even thinking about adding features right now. Because if they are, and if they're doing a good job testing, that'll add another month or so to the due date.

Nope, no more features. Perfect the ones you have and move on.

Though I find it extraordinarily perplexing why renaming stars and changing color doesn't exist...weird.

Let 'em join the New Orion Senate, too.

Proposal: Giant Space Eel demands tribute of 1 Population per turn per Civilization.

New Orions: Yay!

Just to let you guys know, they probably won't be adding anything new that isn't already there.

Software goes through a stage called code lockdown when no new code is added besides that which is needed to fix bugs (I think after the explanation of regression testing the reason will be obvious to all).

Any new features will most likely have to wait until patches roll around.
