Top ten favorite games (any platform, and of all time)
What are your top favorite games? Console games included. And it's of all time, so compare games to its contemporaries. Eg if you thought Civ3 wasn't a big enough improvement from Civ2, then you would probably put Civ2 higher.

Me:
1. Civilization II
2. HALO
3. Civilization III
4. Warcraft II
5. Civilization I
6. Empire Earth
7. Railroad Tycoon II
8. SimCity 2000
9. Black and White (Kind of a weird game in that I play for a month, uninstall for three, then play for another month, etc.)
10. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2

SMAC, CTP, and CTP II would be on the list if I owned them, but I know that I like the Civ series better than I would like any of the above three. Hence I have never bought them.

Other note. Project Gotham for Xbox would be on the list if I had one more slot.

Funny you should ask, it's an RPG made by, ready for this, BETHESDA Softworks. It's really quite indepth and addicting.

ACK!

I thought the graphics in 'No One Lives Forever' (my #8 game) were pretty damn good! NOLF2 looks even better!

The Lith-Tech is the suckest of all. First off, everything looks like a blurred canvas of oil paint colors (even on my friend's 128MB ATi video card (I think he has a 9700, I'll have to double check)). Flat, bitmap wires and the crumeist skybox.

The Quake engine is slowing turning into another Lith-Tech engine after I saw JK2.

Again, NOLF's graphics were pretty good. And JK2's graphics were EXCELLENT!

What are you looking at?

4. Splinter Cell (Xbox)
5. Quake II (PC)
6. Total Annihilation (PC)
7. Super Mario Brothers 3 (NES)
8. MotoGP (Xbox)
9. Star Control 2 (PC)
10. Diablo II (PC)
(11. Starcraft (PC))
(12. Master of Orion II (PC))
(13. MechAssault (Xbox))

I don't think you have a clue what you're talking about, man.

Color pallet has absolutely nothing to do with the Lith engine, but the art direction of the particular game...

I have NO idea what you mean by "flat, bitmap wires" but I'm sure you thought it sounded technical so you'd throw it in there. Are you talking about how some games implement things such as grates and wires as transparant textures rather than polygons? If so, again, this is an implementation issue with certain games -- Lithtech is more than capable of using real polygons for it, but that's slower (as it is in all engines).

I think the Lithtech engine is pretty good. Better than Q3:TA's engine these days. Inferior to the Unreal Warfare/UT2003 engines.

Listed in the order I have played them:

01. Master of Orion II [PC]
02. Alpha Centauri [PC]
03. Colonization [PC]
04. Hero's Quest III & IV [PC]
05. Doom I & II [PC]
06. Pirates [Commodore 64]
07. Boulder Dash I & II [Commodore 64]
08. Spy vs Spy [Commodore 64]
09. Asteroids [Atari 2600]
10. Donkey Kong [Arcade]

Honourable mentions:

Frogger [Arcade]
Pacman [Arcade]
Xevious [Arcade]
Commando [Arcade/Commodore 64]
Tetris
Double Dragon [Arcade]
Impossible Mission [Commodore 64]
Ghostbusters [Commodore 64]
Wizball [Commodore 64]
Super Mario Series [Nintendo]
Donkey Kong Country [SNES]
Space Quest Series [PC]
Civilization I & II [PC]
Simcity [PC]
Fallout II [PC]
Black & White [PC] - I have a similar experience to you with this game Jaguar Warrior. Such a beautiful looking game, but in the end the stupid creature AI becomes too annoying. The last game I played the dumb creature I had spent hours raising to be good kept hurling fireballs at my temple.
Age of Empires Series [PC]
The Sims [PC]
Halo [Xbox]

Worst:

Civilization III

Copy/paste:

1 - Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
2 - Heroes of Might and Magic II.
3 - Civilization I.
4 - Jagged Alliance.
5 - X-COM, part one: UFO - Enemy Unknown.
6 - Warlords II Deluxe.
7 - Homeworld.
8 - Master of Orion I.
9 - Heroes of Might and Magic IV.
10 - Jagged Alliance II.

All are PC-games... I am part of the 90's PC-generation... Always disliked the modern consoles,
older ones are the ones I haven't played...
