PUBLIC HEARING on Case 001: Unconstitutional Elections
Citizen of Lemuria Locutus has raised the question of whether the past elections of the Cabinet are constitutional. The intial complaint by him is:

Quote:
Okay, I have an interesting case for the Court: the past elections are unconstitutional since they didn't have an Abstain option (I have a feeling that this is not gonna make me very popular )...
This thread shall remain open for 3 days of a public hearing, after that it shall be closed and the court shall make a ruling. The date and time of closing will be on or about: December 29th, 3:00pm GMT-6

This is where we give our opinions on the complaint?

I don't care. Not voting in that case was as valid an "abstain" option as an official "abstain" option would have been.

edit: and abstaining is for pansies

Third that, voting for abstain is like those people who vote into phone polls for "dont care", making all the polls again with abstain wont change the results either.

Uphold the complaint, but only one for the next elections though.

I dont like Redbull arguments but I want think he is right because...

We need to remember that the 'Abstain' option is fundamental to achive a minimum number of votes to make a poll valid which as a CTP2DG standard this number is 1/3 of the community, in other words 10 people. To express the votes for those citizen who thinks that both choices are already good enough no matter which one will be chosen therefore leaving the result in the hands of people who is thinking deeper. And i am the best to talk about this since i made the first skeleton of the constitution. So although the polls are not in accordance with the constitution the 'yes' option was chosen for almost 50%of the all citizens of this community. Even if all the rest of the people have voted abstain or 'no' the candidates were still going to be chosen. Because all the election polls achived ths minimum number of voters what make the abstain option unnecessary.

Lets just keep the elected ministers because no citizen was injured (all minister were running alone for the position) but because I believe we all want to start this DG the sooner possible. Lets just keep the eye open not to make mistakes like these. We all are guilty since no one noticed that what is a good thing because this mean no one missed that option

IMHO let the result stand this time(just for the sake of getting this thing going ), but for the next elections remember to have the abstain option.

i agree, the poll wasn't correct, but its highly unreasonable a correct poll would have led to another result
