Do you think there will be a terrorist attack in the U.S. in the next week?
With news of those 5 guys with the fake passports at the canadian border, and new years.......it seems like a strong possibility for something to happen in times square tommorow, do you think something might happen?

Does anyone have any information about where they crossed the border? If it is in the East, of course Times Square is their target.

Why does everyone assume that they entered the US through Canada? There is no proof of that. Hell, the guys who blew up the towers on September 11th never even came through Canada. They had been living in the US for over a year and entered the US from different countries. Amazing what the media can do. All this just because some moron tv reporter ASSUMES that they slipped into the US through Canada. Yeah I'm touchy about this.

I heard something about their being tracked by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

For some reason, the FBI is being quite vague on this.

I had thought something might have happened at Christmas... But there aren't really any big crowds at famous places then.
Times Square is obviously an "excellent" target, but I don't know, hitting New York again would be a bit boring, no? (lucky New Yorkers! ) In any case, I know someone who'll probably be there, so preferably not (if any terrorists are reading this ).

Loif:

They entered from Canada using fake British passports, according to the latest information from the FBI.

Don't worry. The United States won't invade Canada over something like that ... I think.

Nice poll... not that it's going to affect reality either way.

What bothers me about Canada is that the RCMP knew about these terrorists but did nothing to stop them. (Assuming the news about the RCMP is correct.)

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the media tells us. On the other hand, I haven't watched the news or read a newspaper for the last couple of days so the world could have ended and I wouldn't be aware of it.

Someone said that the FBI says that the RCMP knew about the terrorists but did nothing about them? Sorry, too lazy to go back and look for the post. Why would they do that?

It seems to me that if the US is so concerned about protecting the biggest border in the world that they should put some more people on it. So easy to pass the buck. We're a small nation population wise; it's not possible for us to staff enough people to control the entire border. Both sides have to be willing to do this.

On the third hand though, I too hope that nothing happens. It would be terrible if it did.

after edit: Well it seems that the RCMP have a list of suspected terrorists that they gave to the FBI. As I stated earlier, I guess both of our countries have to work together in order to protect our borders.

Of course it did! The terrorists visited Apolyton, checked the poll, and found out they were without a job this week.
