Play the World Ladder
For those of you interested in a group of PTW players interested in having good games and keeping track of wins and losses, a Civ III PTW ladder has been created:
http://www.myleague.com/civ3ptw/

Thanks!

Yes you can definitely track games here, but have you had a look at the league site ? You can't keep track the way the league site does - statistics, graphs, ranking, ability to file a formal complaint ...

There's a lot of features that make the civ3ptw league a good place to find and rank players. Join up and try it out ... if you don't like it ...you don't have to stay and its free.

Apolyton is definitely the goto place for discussion and the source for experts.

Well if you do please let me know, I'd be willing to check it out. The CIV3PTW league is not meant to compete with Apolyton in anyway. It's just a means to rank yourself against other players.

Best Regards

Well why don't you come and check out the Case's way of ranking players. It's not perfect but it makes player keep playing to keep there place in the ladder. And maybe if you don't like it then you can provide an alternative. Since as far as I know Civleague/Gameleague which was at one time afilliated with Apolyton folded because the admins didn't have the time to keep the league from stagnating.

Cheers

Well frankly, I *could* be offering for PtW (PBEM easily, online somehow) to use the ladder system that I invented and that CtP is using for more than two years now. However, I'm not sure if this really is needed...

I would hate to suggest it myself in the first place. IF there's demand for a ladder and IF anyone would WANT to have something along those CtP-lines, it's OK by me.

Also Panag, send me that PM you tried to send a few minutes ago...

While the ladder I'm an admin for isn't PBEM specific, it has around 300 members at the moment with more joining daily. There's certainly no rule against PBEM games, however- the conditions are agreed on in advance by the competitors.

Momma always told me to try new things before I blasted them...didn't yours?

Hope to see you around.

Well, again, in defense of my system, it has separate rankings for PBEM and online, and it has really proved to work - almost all CtP players are ranked.

However, unless I see some real demand for it...

There's near critical mass on the ladder system. It's great to be able to see players you recognize and get a relative idea of people's strengths that you will be playing.

Also - it's just nice to know when you're playing ladder players that there is a certain minimum level of skill for the palyers.

Maybe it wasn't the only or best way to do it but it works and works pretty well so I encourage people to try it out!
