22.5, but skewed a bit due to some muscle and the extra weight of my enormous penis.

I laughed when I saw that could be considered overweight . . . well I guess it is one of the noted limitations of such a simple measure-- As you add muscle mass from increased workouts, your measure gets "worse"

16.5 (!)
I am physically incapable of putting on weight over 8 stones, no matter what I eat. Some would consider this good, but I get very cold in winter.
Apparently I only need to put on another strone to be within the acceptable range.
Lol, checking my lowest weight over the past couple of years gave me a BMI of 13.9, no joke. That's what happens when you drink and smoke instead of eat

Muscle is definitely a problem with this test. The guy pictured below tips the scales at a very 'overweight' 38.6

Well what suprises me is they lump men and women together. Men in general have more muscle mass so their overweight threshold should be higher. Women should remain the same though.

But women usually have more bodyfat than men, and it propably compensates the male muscles in the chart...

that doesn't mean their body fat is good. The only place they should have high concentrations of body fat is in their, err you know

In the navy we used waist and neck measurement. But the women in the navy were allowed to get a pretty high body fat %. we couldn't exceed 22%. Yes the navy is full of fat slobs . Because 22% is quite a lot. We had guys in with around 5% body fat. Now that is lean.

Wow... i didn't know there was a body fat limit in your military forces...

Why is there such limit?

The navy should be even more stringent if you ask me.

In any case it is the military. You can't have fat people in the military!!

Yes we do have some hefty people in the navy. but One requirement should be able to fit through scuttles. I bet some of those guys come close to not being able to fit through.

It's hard to explain what a scuttle is. But basically it is just a circular hatch that opens up. we have escape shuttles in the engine rooms of navy ships. And many hatches (they allow access in between decks (floors)) have scuttles in the hatches. So in a general quarters situation the hatches will be shut. If you need to pass through to another deck you will use the scuttle. It helps to be able to fit through the scuttle with an OBA (oxygen breathing apparatus) on, and carrying a firehose.

And of course the army and marines need to actually be fit to battle the enemy on the combat field

It's just that body fat % can be a very poor indicator of physical fitness, and it certainly is an awfully bad indicator of skills needed in combat/army.

Well, who am I to blame. There are some minimum requirements to become some special forces here too. Things like min. 3000 meters in cooper's test, atleast 10 pull-ups in 30 sec. and so...

well I agree. There really is not great measurement that can be quickly done that measures physical fitness. Even the pushups, situps, run/walk tests we have are a joke. Not very hard to pass those.
