eugh. i hated that. i much prefer SMAC's support SE system.
Au contraire, mon ami. Civ3´s support system allows for a massive build up of armed forces without the hassle of keeping track of where they´re actually from and seeing to that there is enough shields to support the troops and still produce new ones.

Vastly superior to SMAC´s support system, IMO.

I see more merit in a "Civ: past, present and future"-general forum. We don't need a Civ IV category (not for the moment). Most visitors tend to stick to their own turf and never venture outside their own and perhaps OT. The fragmentation in the on-topic forums is gettings worse and worse...

Well, you´re paying from the treasury actually. And when you get to Democracy and have Wall Street and banks ´n stuff everywhere money is NOT a problem. In my current game I net 350 gold each turn. There isn´t anything I can´t buy.
Mwhahhah! *evil capitalist laugh*

Or better still, have you actually sent it to Firaxis?
Actually, I have.

---
I'd have posted the link to the site, but am still looking where it is (I have too many sites!)

HERE IT IS:

RIGHT HERE

--

Although the original plan was more ambitious- we were, in the civ III section of the forum- going to go through and rate each idea as MAJOR, MINOR, or EXPANSION PACK possible; then send the entire list, with hypelinks to each specification...

It was going to be a huge undertaking, but only a few people showed interest in reforming the Civ III list into a civ IV list and adding new Civ IV ideas for the technology avaliable to that game.

And only 1 person volunteered to help me directly (rasbelin I think) thus, the list is pretty much just me compiling ideas Although it was meant to be so much more!

Sadly no, the RCT (Rollercoaster tycoon) guys were even more prompt to respond than Firaxis was

(I have a RCT LIST HERE: http://home.att.net/~tivoligardens/rctideas.htm)

Firaxis seems to have lost its touch nowadays *sigh*

oh well

Their sales are probably huge regardless of whether they read our suggestions or not.

Well hopefully they read it and kept it anyway. Was the RCT response a cursory 'thank you' (which would still be nice) or was a substantive?

We don't need a Civ4 list. We can recycle the Civ3 list, since 90% of the suggestions (95% of the good ideas) were ignored.

Like what? Part of the problem it seemed to me was implementing ideas that were good in theory but not in practice.
