Okay, so we agree HT group is more loquacious...which is different from , the view of STYOM. And I understand how Mac users would not care about 2.42.

But, I noted two points. I still think it is significant of something that there are 10% more views by the community of the 2.42 game.

Folk can learn much from following a SXN game--I did at least. From the standpoint of the SXN Group, we may get more folk to join if they can follow the game as it progresses. That's all.

This may be like the Jerry Seinfeld show, an idea about nothing.

I dunno... defining 'lagomorph' counts as strategy now?

Sorry, AFK for the rest of tonight. I will likely play Saturday morning.

Good turns Hydey. I'm not much of a trader, but I'll see what I can do.

AD 1660

Surveying our mighty empire:
I notice we have 4 enemies remaining.
Of the four, and the cities they control:

Chinese: Beijing (sighted)
Spanish: Seville, Toledo, (sighted), Cordoba
Russians: Odessa, Sevastopol
Bablyonians: Babylon, Ur. (Sighted)

Looks like we're in the endgame...
Tickle cities for celebrations.

Balance sheet is nearly 800gold/turn!

15 crooks, and most are not near our enemies!
39 active caravans!
Clearly the time has come for a warrior, not a trader!

*Polishes lightsaber* Lets see if I can finish up in 10 turns.

AD 1670- Charge Fortified Phalanx in Seville and lose!
Smite the feeble phalanx with Musketeer, take Seville!
Break peace with Babylonians to destroy stack of 4 units.
Why so many caravans??? NO troops!

AD 1680
Spanish attack galleon w/Trireme.
Barbs land off Woebegone. Bribe Elephant and capture Barb leader.
Bribe Toledo! (Gotta love a good treasury!)
Bribe Chinese warrior near Beijing. Prepping units for
invasion.
Discover Sanitation, research Leadership.

AD 1690

Barbs land off stickspit.
Chinese trade for Gunpowder with Spanish.
That's the last straw.
Land crusaders near Beijing, smash unfortified Musketeer.
Beijing falls, +376 gold!
That's 1.

AD 1700
Barb elephant attacks mining settler, off stickspit. Brutally slaughters our peaceful settler.

AD 1710
104 gold from Hides to Seville. (Now I see why you wanted that shipchain. Begins to finish a proper chain to deliver caravans every turn.
Bribe babylonian trireme sitting in the lake near Babylon to speed up invasion.

AD 1720
Babylon Revolts, costing 1684 gold, we get 286 back.
148 gold from rest of caravans to Toledo.
Wow, we are halfway to Leadership. I like this style of Fundy.
Only Ur remains, Fortified, likely Musketeer behind city
walls.
224 gold from caravans to Mt4Special.

AD 1730
Sailers travel the seven seas.
Where are those vershinglugger Russkies?
Sign ceasefire, hope to trade maps. Nope.
Found Hillville.
Barbs appear outside Beijing.
Bribe spanish catapult threatening Madrid.

AD 1740
Babylonians sink trireme 1 turn outside of babylon with 2 demanded caravans!!!
Rushed Babylonian Crusader kills fortified crusader on Hills on Fortress!
This means WAR! :doitnow:
Bribe victorious Babylonian crusader.
Kill barb leader outside Beijing.
136 gold for yet another hides caravan in Klondike.

1750
Discover Leadership! All crusaders upgrade to Dragoons.
Research Explosives.
Now I've accumulated some wall softeners!
Smash city walls. First non-vet dragoon bashes against fortified muskets. Loses barely. Next non-vet dragoon kills unfortified musketeer, becomes vet. One down, one to go. Bribe Babylonian settler hanging around the battle. Charge remaining muskets with former Babylonian crusader now Dragoon. Lose again, Babylonian Musket has no bar remaining. Last musketeer near Ur smites Babylonian musket!
Capture UR with bribed settler.
Babylonians destroyed. 2 down.
Wandering Dragoon finds Cordoba!
100 gold in caravan deliveries.

1752 Barbs uncover Russians!!
Attack Cordoba with dragoon, destroy garrison. Wait with troops for the diplomats and catapult. Defender will have to charge, but can't destroy both the dragoon and the diplomat outside of Cordoba.

1754
Counterattack fails to kill dragoon. Take Cordoba.
Spanish are relegated to the ashbin of history. 3 down, 1 remains.
282 total gold from Hides caravan deliveries to Klondike.
Now I'm getting the hang of this!
Redirect ships to head towards Russians.
Finish Copernicus' Observatory.

1756
Pick up Diplomats from St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Shipchain units to Sevastopol, bribe Sevastopol
Bribe Russian crusader near Odessa.
Bribe Odessa.
And the Russians fold their tents.

That's All Folks!!

And the proof:

Way to go obiwan

Nicely completed. Plus, you discovered the power of celebrating fundy trade. It can finance conquest or the stars!! Nothing like playing a strange hand to anchor a learning experience...the attraction of SXN games for me.

Good game, all.

Looks like twelve to me, but I doubt anyone will vote to send you to the Sticky Mouse Institute. Everyone knows that a Jedi knows best in these things.
