So wy does in one of my citys, placed about 14 squares from my capitol with 35 money, corruption is 5 and in city 25 squares from my capitol with 26 money corruption is 16!!!!!?????

Please help!!!!

There's a few possible explanations.

Do you have corthouse/police station in the city with low corruption. Those two still helps under communism.

Secondly, do you have marketplace/bank/stock exchange in the low corruption city? Those improvements give the impression of a lower corruption, without actually reducing it.

Ex: A city with 100% tax has a base income of 50 gold, with 20% corruption, i.e. 40 net income / 10 corruption.
Add a marketplace and a bank, and the net income becomes 80, while still only 10 is shown as corruption.
But, since a city with zero corruption would have a net income of 100 gold, it means that the money lost to corruption actually is 20 gold, i.e. still 20%.

In the editor, one has the option to chose a shunned form of government for a civilization. I assume this also applies to the the existing civilizations, ie America may have Communism as a shunned form of government.

What affect does choosing a shunned form of government have?

Do police stations reduce corruption?

None, this is just to try to make the game more realistic. It prevents the AI to switching to a government that there nation would shun in the real world.

I'm quite sure there are some consequences...AFAIK, if you choose a government shunned by another civ, their attitude toward you will be worse and if you capture their cities, it will take longer for the foreign citizens to assimilate.

Thanks, didn't know that! That can explain some strange behaviours, especially among the AI players itselfs

the AIs also seem to prefer when you're in the same government. I've had many games where just switching my government improved their attitude from 'annoyed' to 'polite'
