I'm in the military (Reserves now, after recently leaving active duty), and could end up in the desert.

I have many friends already there.

It's our job, and if called we have to go and do it to the best of our ability.

Which means that we will do it effectively.

Yeah, same here. This war does not have support in the UK, despite the number of troops being sent. I am glad to see there are protests over there in Oz, I can imagine them starting up here a bit more strongly if anything starts to occur. Simple fact is, there just hasn't been any justification for a potential war, just gesturing.

We need the UN involved so we can get the lovely UN danger money.

I'm reading a book about the British Empire and was surprised to find that the British forces in the 16th, 17th and 18th century actually had rules for dividing up the loot from captured cities and ships. It was called "prize money". All the troops in a successful battle got a cut with the lion's share going to the officers and some kicked back to the Government. The navy was particularly lucrative, as was service in colonial armies. In some cases fabulous wealth was distributed. After capturing a Spanish gold ship, officers could retire on the proceeds to a country estate.

Maybe there would be more enthusiasm for this war if they brought back that system.......

If you put "Thinking" in place of "Procrastination", I believe you'd have a more personally accurate sig line.

Really, Sloww? Well, if you substituted "brain" for "hand" in your nickname, it'd be a much more accurate nick

As she reaches 0, a nuke explodes.

So what does this say about the peace demonstrators true beliefs concerning Saddam? They believe he has nukes and will use them if we go after him.

Actually, Bill Clinton said as much not that long ago. He said that Saddam is not a threat to use his WoMD unless we attack.

But I agree, Azazel, you are in Saddam's bullseye with whatever WoMD he does have.

Some of this plundering was amazing, the Medellin Cartel had nothing on the British East India Company.

hey AH, the cousin of the wive of a friend of mine was murdered in Australia some days ago...

some people tried to rob him and then hit him in the head with chains untill they killed him...

He resisted the theft maybe that's what drove those murderers' rage. He was in his 20's.

What's the criminality like in Australia?

Jeez, take off the ideological blinders and think about it, would you? It says that they believe that Bush is a madman, and will use nukes. Bush himself has said nukes are an option -- the first major politician to do so, I believe, since Goldwater, at whom the original daisy ad was aimed. Sorry to wield Occam's razor, but you really need a shave.

I'm sorry Rufus, I but was there in '64. I know what was intended by the ad. It worked. The clear import was that Vietnam would escallate into a nuclear war with Russia, Vietnam's ally.

Ditto Iraq - since the whole point is Iraq's WoMD. Add to that, Clinton's statement that Saddam would likely use WoMD if we attacked.

hi ,

ned if he has a nuke he shall use it , he has done so numerous times in the past with bio and chemical weapons , why wait until its to late , ......

all of a sudden he has less weapons then in 1992 , .... come on , when the UN left they where just starting to find the tip of the iceberg , .....

move in , and get rid of him and any WMD there is , ....

have a nice day
