New Scenario: Crisis of 1820, Argentine Civil War
Crisis of 1820, Federales and Unitarios

After Argentina achieved its independence officially in 1816, a series of failed government succeeded themselves in Buenos Aires. Unrest in the provinces of the interior started as the organisation of the country was argued. While Buenos Aires sought to establish a strong central government with right of rule over the interior, the 'caudillos' in the interior demanded autonomy, and refused outright rule from Buenos Aires. Additionally, tax moneies from the customs house in Buenos Aires was demanded as to be shared as national income, which Buenos Aires refused.

In 1820 tensions peaked and open warfare began between the different provinces. The Northwestern provinces, Cordoba, the 'Litoral' in the northeast, Buenos Aires. Additionally, Chile remained isolated, but War would soon loom over Buenos Aires against Brazil over the issue of Uruguay, which would soon come in 1826. Soon, a civil war of 32 years ensued, drawing to an end when Buenos Aires was finally defeated, and a Federalist constitution and government was created with its seat in Buenos Aires.

Screenshot 4: Rosas and Urquiza battle at Caseros. Historically, Urquiza defeated Rosas in this final showdown and marched upon Buenos Aires triumphantly, forcing Rosas to flee to England in exile, bringing the civil war to an end in 1852

Great scenario, El, highly playable.
I must admit that I knew nothing of the civil war beforehand.

Thanks, Valuk (wheew, at last some feedback on it )

I still have to do a lot of 'informationy' kind of stuff like the civilopedia and a bit more 'historical explanation', but I was itching to release it to see if it played well.

Thanks again man.

Ack, a few bugs have been pointed out for me:

1) Urquiza needs a sex change operation
2) Disable (for the umpteenth time, bloody editor) negotiations with EVENTS civ.

Lookin good for build 1, Hodad.

Not as good as my Acrean Revolution scen, but close.

Some recommendations;

Get a title gif dude. Any self-respecting writer advertises like hell with the free billboard space.

Do an intro blurb (argcivilwar.txt).

Fill the crap outta Araucania and Patagonia with barbarian units in forts to prevent southern expansionism.

Do an English translation for your Espanol-impaired friend, the Void.

It's build 2, WV

And the Patagonia is constantly building hostile EVENTS indians to raze your encampments. I don't add title.gifs because I think it's pointless in the sense that it takes a split second to load the first thing, so I never really bother looking at the title.gifs. I do need to do the blurb, I seem to have lost it after the HD wipe.

Any more feedback? Anyone?
