Shucks. I wonder what the problem is... The industry's been leaving ADG, and nobody comes to you either. The only industry I have is high-tech, which shouldn't be a problem since you two have dirty and an occasional manufacturing. And I know I have more people than jobs...

Growth in the Residential sector was very slow, almost stagnant over the past 2 years. However, the Industrial sector has been growing nicely (even though it has been declining in other cities.) The Ocean City commercial sector is booming, with tremendous growth. The budget is starting to post a healthy profit each month.

However, the main problem facing Ocean City is the overuse of utilities. More and more land has to be designated Landfill as garbage output is ever increasing. A waste-to-energy plant is not an option, the monthly cost is too high, and it pollutes. The city has 2 coal plants and a oil plant, polluting the air greatly. (I'm hoping I will get solar plants soon.) The water is polluted. Mayor Jonny plans to work hard to fix these problems over the coming years.

I'm not sure what you mean with graphs og population, commerce and such, could you give an example of what you're talking about?
Are you talking about per city, or for the whole region?

Maqapulco - End of Year 2010

Pretty shitty couple of years (as if the previous 8 were booming), first my whole city almost explodes from overworked wind turbines then one of my residential train stations goes up in flames. Then i managed to dezone one of my most valuable areas of residential housing while trying to dezone one square because of no road access Most of it is growing back now though... on the up side uh well heres a picture

Btw, I don't think I'll add pictures, text for the different cities, for each turn, anymore... Next friday we'll be starting our Exams project, and next sunday I'll be moving out, so I'll just keep the simple types (how many Sims, jobs, etc), and the map of San Francisco. To do the other things might take too much of my time

The turns ends like this:

02, 04, 06, 08, 10, 12 (And that'll be January for those years), so you have played right! Or did I miss something?

For most of these 2 years, I was mainly saving up money. At the end of the time, I built a new waste-to-energy plant. Not only did it give the city more electricity, I no longer have to waste land and money expanding my landfills. A good investment for the city. However, the buliding of the plant caused one of my water pumps to become too polluted, so it has been rebuilt away from the power plants. The city still has about §20000 in the bank, so we can afford more improvements. We may possibly build a minor-league stadium in the city next year to keep the people happy.

For the first time ever, Ocean City experienced its first decline in industry, although slight. However, residential growth continued, and the city's commercial boom continues.

Population and Change:
Residential - 41356 (+5%)
Commercial - 11111 (+14%)
Industrial - 14208 (-1%)

Well, I just realized that I haven't posted the stats for the last turn.

Any way, here is the stuff:

Vovanburg '20
Population: 16 389 (+21%)
Commercial Jobs: 9 659 (+40%)
Industrial Jobs: 1 931 (-4%)

I have started populating the island to the north-east of the main land. It's going slowly, but it's going... I am starting to get extra $$ due to the fact that a number of loans has expired. Cheerful, I take out more.

Vovanburg '22
Population: 20 187 (+23%)
Commercial Jobs: 12 190 (+26%)
Industrial Jobs: 1 922 (-0.4%)

Not much activity going on. Rezoned some of the commercial zones into high density, and watched a couple high-tech corporations leave. Was fairly bored, and started looking at the different overlays. Bot shocked by the fact that I hadn't a single police station in the city, and plopped down half a dozen of them. The profit got down very much, but at least I am still in black. Oh, and the commerce is going wild.

Hey, Maq, I just looked at your stats here, and...

The industrial increase from 46 to 1237 is not a 100% increase, but a 2 589% increase. Not that it really matters that much, but big numbers are always good, eh?

Nah. Like I said, it really doesn't matter that much. The reason I said is, I, personally, do like to have big numbers next to my city's names (positive numbers that is ) but if like to have 100% as max, that's fine.

(BTW, I think that is the largest per cent increase since we've started the game... For any city, for any catgory. )

This is like my third city or so, too. I don't know, I really got bored with the game after a couple cities, and now I only play it for this "MP", and that's all...

And, BTW, your pop isn't the lowest. Look at the stats for the cities for 2010:

I have to admit im not hopelessly addicted (havent been since 2k) but its hard on the patience with a 400 cpu, so id prolly play more if i had a decent comp.

Hey, I went over to the official boards, and it seems that the next patch is going to be out soon.

I mean, that's got to be pretty soon, eh?

Among other things it seems great that they paid close attention to performance issues and posted performance optimization analyses right there on the forums. The thing that kind of disappoints me, though, is that the call a 1 GHz P3, 256M RAM, XP Pro set up a low-spec machine. I mean, yeah, it has little RAM, but with that processor frequency, it's just a crime to call it low-spec, IMO. (/me tenderly remembers his 166MHz 486 machine)

Oh, well, it will still be a big consideration for me whether to install the patch or not, due to the industrial fix, but the performance improvememnts sure sound tempting.

If someone would like to do that, during the next 2 months, I'd be happy... does anyone voulenteer?
