Comp players won't stop fighting each other
I've noticed in scenarios such as Age of War and Imperialism 1870 the computer players will wage war with each other for the entire length of the scenario. This ruins the fun for me, as these are primarily empire building scenarios. Anybody else experience this? Any solutions?

IIRC, These are both pretty much full out combat scenarios.

The *Imperialism* one has victory condictions centered around controlling the whole world in 30-40 years or winning the world war.

As far as *Age of War* goes...

It's called *Age of War*, what did you expect?

The *Industrial War*, I guess. I haven't played the *Age of War* scenario, but heres a blurb on it from Civfanatics:

Quote:
This scenario limits the entire scope of the game to the age of industrial warfare in Europe between 1900 and 1945, with all new units and technologies pertinent to the period. If you would like to see "dreadnoughts hurling shells across the waters, mass armies marching toward the front, and mobile columns striking off over vast areas of enemy territory", then this scenario is for you!

In scenario mode there is a flag (it's name escapes me, but it is something like jihad in meaning) which has the effect of ensuring that two civs are in a permanent state of war with each other... I guess that in the examples you quote it has been set.

You might be able to decrease the severity of their wars by gaining ground quicckly and forcing them to make coalitions... unless of course the total war flag is checked...

(I think it's a total war flag, not jihad...)
You can make it so that no one can declare peace... including hte human player.

The flag that you are thinking of Scouse, is merely the flag for declaring war at the start of the scenario... that can be broken by the end- but the total war flag cannot.

Thanks DC - it was 'total war' that eluded (sp?) me.

Actually the total war flag isn't set in either scenario, that's just the civ 2 AI at work.
