How The Heck???
How can I play against more than 15 civs in Civ 3??
Please I am desperate, 15 is not enough for me!
I can create the civ, but when I start a new game and choose, I can't play against more than this damned 15!

Well, that's it...
Thanks!

That's the most you can play against unless you have PTW

On the World Size tab in the editor, pick the world size you want. You will see there is a field for # of Civs. Change that field to the desired number. Save the .bic file. Launch Civ3 and enjoy.

It's impossible to increase it above 15 unless you own the Addon, which allows a maximum of 31 opponents.

However, 15 is enough for me, since it gets hard to keep the overview when there are so many.

well, i gotta say that it's pretty funny when there's a lot of really small civs going to the war, everybody against everybody. i was playing on europe map, 16 civs, the aztecs declared war on me. i managed to get 7 allies, but so did the aztecs and their friends. so now it's 8 playing against 8!

I never play with more than 8 civs. I simply can't be bothered by the 'shift-right clicking' (or something like this) necessary to view all nations in the foreign advison screen.

If you don't want to shell out for PTW then you can emultate the experience of 31 civs on a huge map with the following hardware setup:
(1) buy a can of paint (any colour will do, but I prefer mango-cream)
(2) buy or borrow a paint brush
(3) apply paint liberally to a large flat surface (a wall will do)
(4) sit back and watch it dry

I tried playing civ3 on a P200 with 64MB RAM, almost the same experience.

Like Stuie said earlier, open the editor, go to the World Size tab, change the number of civs for the size world you want, save your new scenario, load the scenario in PTW.

Oh, sorry to forget, but my editor isn't working, is there any unofficial map editor for PTW?

Buy a legitimate copy of PTW, open the editor, and change it on the world size tab.

This is the advice I'd give to him/her, but I'm pretty sure that his/her copy of Civ3 is not a legitimate one too...

Well, here is how you make the PTW editor work:
1) Go into a computer game store
2) Buy a copy of the game
3) Install your legitimate version on the PC.
4) Start the editor.

Wow , I never play more than six and usually only 4 or 5. I can't even imagine playing with so many.

So long...

Heh, theNiceOne, you forgot to tell he should also -
3.5 - Download the necessary patch(es).

Cultural question: how many brazilian comrades (yeah, we got socialist parties) do come to this site/forum?

Well, the one to try is small map with 31 civs. That way if you don't like it, you'll be dead very soon anyway. Or you'll win. Do NOT try this on Deity, or you'll get mobbed by the free starting units.

Regularly, no more than 4 or 5, I guess. Clicking on your flag you'll get a reasonable list of how many Brazilians are registered here. I say "reasonable" because people from other countries sometimes like to use our flag. Mr President was using the Brazilian flag some time ago.
