Lock The Bastard Up
Quote:
Politicians and British Muslim leaders have dismissed preacher Sheikh Abu Hamza's comments on the Columbia space shuttle, which he described as carrying a "trinity of evil".
Mr Hamza - recently barred from preaching at the Finsbury Park mosque in London - said the loss of the shuttle and all seven astronauts was a "sign from God".

The controversial cleric said the crew had been punished with death by Allah because there was an Israeli, Ilan Ramon, a Hindu Indian-born Kalpana Chawla, and Americans onboard.

But shadow home secretary Oliver Letwin said Mr Hamza's comments were "monstrous, appalling, despicable, and outrageous".

"All sensible people in Britain will be amazed that someone can engage in implicit incitement of this sort without anyone laying a finger on him."

Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, leader of the Muslim Parliament, dismissed Mr Hamza's pronouncement as "lunatic".

Dr Siddiqui told BBC News Online all British Muslims would be feeling sympathy for the dead astronauts, who had given their lives in the pursuit of sciences
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2720775.stm

Don't we have laws against incitement to racial hatred in this country? Surely attacking Jews, Americans and Hindus in one go counts as incitement?

****ing lunatic extremists...

The guy's a loony, and a nasty one at that.

Free Speach, however, grants him the right to be a nasty SOB if he wants to. He wasn't telling Muslims to go forth and kill (at least not in this instance), but rather rejoicing in a tragedy that already happened.

Fine. **** him, he's an *******. But he's got the right to say what he said.

You want to lock a guy up for exercising his free speech rights, Iain?

Take some initiative people. Just because it's legal doesn't mean this guy doesn't deserve an ass-beating. Take some shovels and baseball bats, and pound this guy. Crack his skull, and see how many nasty little bigots open their mouths next time something bad happens.

Doesn't sound like encitement to be. Did he recommend doing anything about this trinity of evil?

Edit: Felch X does have a point... Of course he's just saying do that in the theoretical sense.

Paiktis, no one is going to lock him up. Why the thumbs down (aside from the fact that you're a gigantic bigot along the same lines as the Sheikh, and your xenophobia is well known)?

Okay, maybe it was an over-reaction - and if that's not incitement then fair enough. He's a ****ing idiot though.

He has a right to free speech under the constitution which is unheard of in many moslem countries. No, we can't lock him up. So I suggest we pull out his toenails, are you with me?

Well he's in the UK so his right to free speach is protected by common law rather than the constitution but basicaly he can say what he wants.

Can't see how this helps his cause, but then i'm not a infidel bashing nutcase

Actually that's crap Stinger.

The UK's treatment of prisoners of terrorism makes the US human rights violations of its own prisoners pale in comparison.

As written in a very interesting German report.

Can't link sorry.

Do a search or just attribute it to unpleasant to you "crap" as usual.

If you do a search you'll find it. In German and maybe in English. It was in a big German newspaper report.

The only restrictions the UK has on free speach are those relating to teh incitement of religios/racial hatred which is IIRC the same as the USA.

And sa you are from a country that had a military dictatorship until quite recently I wouldn't lecture on human rights violations.

Stinger refrains form bringing up the arrest of plan spotters

Also funny you brought up the military dictatorship considering you and the US actively supported it at the time...
