PC upgrade, how long will i have to wait for.......
Intel are soon to be introducing the 3.2 processor, how long will it be before I can buy a 6.0 with 1000gig of ram a 256gb graphics card and a 400gb hard drive for a reasonable price i.e. £2000 or $2000 dollars - whatever...
Predictions please, my estimation is Quarter 1, 2005.

Seeing your post ... Q4 2004.
1GB of RAM is around now ... that's what I'm getting in a month, 256MB GFX cards will be around later this year, as will 400GB HDD's. So the thing you'll be waiting on is the CPU.

400GB HDD's later this year? Unlikely.
1TB of RAM. If Moore's Law holds true, that will be 10 iternations of doubling, which is 180 months, or 15 years.

on a related note, did you hear about the new nanometric sensors that were developed?
It can increase the capacity of hard drive surface by a 1000 IIRC.

I expect HD to be bigger than that by the end of this year. 300GB HD's are already around for quite awhile.

Yes, if you use Serial ATA, you can easily get a very large hard drive like Alva suggests.

The biggest HDD I found on Pricewatch is 250GB EIDE. There is no HDD that uses serial ATA that I know of.

Ehhmm... Matrox's and Seagate's SATA HHDs are already available here. The largest is 320 Gb by Matrox.

The MaXLineII is the biggest one I saw on the Maxtor (not Matrox) website. Not Serial ATA.
