Preliminary 1880 Freight Delivery report
Current Food freights 19 - we can use 8 for CfC in a city like Hydeyville for celebrations early next turn, or we could change a city this turn on the main continent and build it
With the current ferry structure, we can get 8 freights from Barcelona (or Vigo) to Freeport in 1 turn, but only every other turn. Of course with only 1 ferry between Weston Port-Port Easton and 1 ferry for Cadiz-Pamplona, we need have the transports syncronized - right now they are positioned correctly, but the Cadiz-Pamplona ferry has already gone this turn... So, a city on the Weston Port continent could finish a wonder next turn, but a city on the Pamplona continent could finish a wonder this turn. With more transports operating the ferries, we can greatly increase our freight delivery efficiency.

Therefore, if we build CfC next turn - we are not limited at all by location, and can choose a city on any of the 3 main continents (or even Malaga, or Vigo - not that we would want to).

Current Commodity freights: 14
Breakdown by City, Type
CAPITOL (Oil, Wine, Gold) - Wine to Leptis Parva, Gold to Naples, Oil to China or Japan
Saragossa (Oil) - deliver to Valencia (different continent, small enough to not displace routes)
Pamplona (Oil) - China or Japan
Cordoba (Gold, Oil) - Gold to Kerman, Oil to China or Japan
Valencia (Cloth) - Kazan
WhereItsAt town (Cloth) - Nepal
Leon (Salt, Gems) - Gems to Avila, Salt to China or Japan
shady trees (Salt) - China or Japan
Cadiz (Silk) - Japan (Nara? - hopefully we can ID a couple more japanese cities in that gap by Whale island)
Panama Canal (Gems) - Nanking (or canton if the major war presence continues)

Cities currently proposed for freight or freight next by the Minister of City Planning
Amazon Island (Oil, Gold) -> Gold - deliver to High Tower if its still demanded
Avila (Hides) -> Hides - China or Japan
Cadiz (Gold, Spice) -> Spice to Xinjian or Osaka
CAPITOL () -> food
Cavebear City (Silk, Oil, Salt) ->Silk - Osaka or other Japanese city, Oil (China or Japan)
Leon: () -> Silk - Izumo
St Praski: (Gold, Oil) -> tossup - not sure there is enough gold demanded if we wind up blocking gold in naples
Turin: (Silk, Oil, Cloth) - Oil - deliver to Valencia (or other city with SH that demand it)
Valencia: (Silk, Hides) - suggest Silk - Another large Japanese city
Vigo: (Silk, Wool) - suggest Silk - another large Japanese city

thoughts:
Avila: city has our biggest max in base trade, and has SH
Cadiz: Xinjian and Osaka demand spice, both at least size 12 foreign rep cities
CAPITOL: if we deliver one of the supplied freights, we should be able to unblock something, in the mean time ->food
Leon: if we deliver the Gems, i'm almost certain we can create a Silk supply there
St praski: Gold would block delivery in naples, but a smaller city might work
Turin: Oil if it hasn't been blocked - Turin is too small to replace most foreigh trade route

A couple of those suggestions assume we actually re-explore the Japanese coast - I'm guessing that several of those cities have actually grown in the last 28 years, not to mention there should be several more cities of large size that we don't know of (the size 12 capital for instance, known only because of a wonder). The Japanese do seem to have railroad, so even if the city is 1 space off from the coast - we should be able to see it with a spy on a transport and be able to land and deliver in the same turn. A fighter in one of the Island resorts could really reveal changes that may have occured in the last 100 years or more.

Also, a couple of my suggestions are to deliver demanded goods domestically to small but far cities - or from small cities to large domestic cities with superhighways. I think the payoffs should be good enough since they are currently demanded and would also actually add trade routes to several cities that would otherwise not have them for a while.

Discussion welcome

@ SCG - Any thoughts on my suggestion to focus foreign trade at China/Japan? It seems that this approach would require the minimum number of Transports and escorts, and create a steady stream of Freight to large cities - rather than one or 2 per turn to different AI civs?

Other than the deliveries to the Greater Naples area - all the trade destinations are either demanded cities within our domestic infrastructure (can be delivered the same turn they are built, or at worst next turn if the ferries are in the opposite ports) or are to China or Japan. We're a little weak on transports for international waters right now. We can use the malaga and vigo transports for delivery out of whale island to western japan, but then we lose some of our ferry infrastructure. Since the Barcelona transport died by freeport, we don't have any designated international transports, and only 2 for delivery to Greater Naples (which seem to be delivering a gold from cordoba at the moment)

I have a request in for more transports, and War Minister obiwan18 has agreed to include a couple in his report for construction. Ideally, one will go to freeport allowing bombardment of Canton every turn or 2, and one will go to either barcelona, or be drafted for whale city.

one other addendum - I'd like to see our freights separated out a little better. With them stacked seemingly haphazardly, its a lot easier for a demanded commodity freight to accedentally be used to build a wonder. Perhaps we can have 2-3 stacks for food freights (maybe even in stacks of 8?) and if we must stack the commodity freights while waiting for delivery (hopefully not more than a turn or 2 now that our ferries are getting more efficiently arranged, put those in a separate stack.

i just noticed i can't count - CfC is 12 freights, not 8... so, we can still deliver 8 freights, but we would need food freights finished on that island to use 12 to build. We'd need more transports to deliver 12 freights to one location...
