Metallica
So they have a new bass man. Rob Trujillo. If anyone has heard of Suicidal Tendencies- they were a pretty cool band. Trujillo used to be their bassist.

anyways here is a picture.

.

Unfortunately I don't think he was involved in making their album. I heard Bob Rock their producer laid down the bass tracks. Too bad. Rob Trujillo could have laid down some funky ****. That would have been interesting to hear.

So I guess Rob is going to be their basssist for the tour. I'm not sure how permanent he will be.

I'm looking at the videos and pictures on their website right now.

They have new video with Rob in it.

And James appears to be wearing glasses! geek

I agree, the black album was overrated. Kill 'em All was pretty garage-bandy, but Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and Unjustice were some of the best metal albums ever.

i voted good. they were really interesting when i first started listening to them but i don't really like their newer stuff. i only like the older metallica songs. when i first started to listen to them i downloaded kill em all first, then moved to their next cds chronologically(i always do this) and they just seemed to get slower and slower and relatively boring(which is weird cause i dig tool). after i finally worked my way up to metallica(the cd) i wasn't really interested in them anymore. i only like a few songs off the metallica cd. i admit i haven't listened seriously to their newer songs but the few i've heard didn't catch me like their old songs did.

their songs aren't aging as well as some of the other bands i like(but that's probably just personal preference). my favorite cd of theirs is probably kill em all just because it's so much faster/rawer. i have a tendency to usually like the first or second cd of an artist the most though, it just feels more pure/creative/original.

They're the only "metal" band I ever liked (though I'm a little fuzzy on the difference between "hard rock" and "metal").

I voted for they really suck, but I want to explain that. Metallica today really sucks, but Metallica (before the Black album began their spiral into garbage every song sounds the same open 5-7 e minor crap) was really good.

^ I'll second what BustaMike just said. They used to be good (Black album was their last semi-decent piece of work), they now royally suck, and they ought to just quit already.

Greatest metal band ever, in my humble opinion. I like all of their songs though the earlier stuff is better. ...And Justice For All is my personal favorite album. And Fade to Black is probably my favorite song.

And I paid far too much money for the Sanitarium tour...

Anyone else gonna be there (when it comes to FedEx Field)?

I have no idea where fedex field is. One of the football stadiums I think.

They don't have a date set for my city.

Tho they may not be the most talented band ever, they are definately my favorite band... new stuff, old stuff, i love it all! No group comes close to them for me. I love probably about half of all metallica songs, and like most of the rest (some are a few poor ones tho, but hey, whos perfect?). I might love like 2 songs by any other band and like a few others... no one else comes close to metallica's consistancy with my taste in music.

my judgement: metallica

Yup. I don't listen to metal except for Metallica. Ride the Lightening and And Justice for All kicked. Their last couple CDs have been average though.

To me, "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" are the best. Kill 'em All is a bit crappy, and Justice was ok. I actually prefer the Black album to Justice because it has more bass. The last two albums aren't horrible, but I don't really listen to them much.

Diss - Typical of Metallica not to include any input from their new bassist eh?

I was never into Metallica until the black album. But agree wioth most here that the early stuff is better.

If it wasn't for the black album, I probably never would have listened to Metallica at all.

There is only one song I like form their post Black days and that's "Hero", but it's not a normal Metallica song either.

ACK!

After the "napster incident" they sort of changed in my eyes. From rockers to money-grabbing yuppies.
That sort of changed my peception of their music too.

Old stuff, ok. New stuff, whatever, who cares.

As far as I am concerned, Id be more interested to hear who is their new lawyer than the new bass player.

They are a great metal band, and have created a link between metal, hard rock and even (which i'm angry for) some nu metal. (recently).

Funny, their new bassist looks just like a student from my class which is also a bassist in a heavy metal band.
