First of all don't say dumb american because we are anything but dumb. We are the most powerful nation in the world and places like germany should grovel at our feet. The germans are just like the french, they've always been a problem. We should go conquer them today.

God, if you're going to spout this kind of crap, take it to the OT where it belongs. THIS IS A GAMING THREAD.

Because I don't like when people sign up for a forum with the sole intent of starting a flame war with a member.

If you want to join the community... fine...

But when you FIRST THREAD names another MEMBER BY NAME and starts the insults going... I have to question your intent.

Put yourself in my shoes...

I will not see these forums used for your personal and petty flame wars....

Is that clear

Its clear but i were a bit pissed of today by useless insults.

OK, i wanted only reply, the new thread were a bad click.
I lost a ladder game today in 3750 bc. In my opinion its really useless to report such games. I didnīt do it if i won so easily and i know sk did it never to me.
But i discussed not and confirmed - its ladder!
I learned many things in the games with strategicking (especially logistics and transportation) and robbie is very expierienced in locating enemy cities.

Frankly... I don't care what happens in your ladder games... if you guys insult each other all the time when you play your games, that's your ladders problem, not Apolytons. I just don't want it to carry over to these forums.

This community has a long tradition, going all the way back to the day the game was released.

I have no intention of watching people sign up just to carry on their personal vendetas from elsewhere.

We always welcome new people... people that want to join our little community... so again, if you want to become a member here... GREAT... we need new blood all the time.

But my warning still stands

Robbie, can you really be this stupid?? When I start on a 1 square pennisula 6 squares long full of hills and forests, you lose, I lose, Eyes loses everyone is doomed from the very beging. It is irreversable no matter what you do. Three games over in 15 mins. need I post the saves of the rediculas starting positions given me by the computer? And by the by, in 15 games if you have not recieved a start like this, then you are probably hosting and using premade maps to avoid it with out sharing that information with the other player obviously.
However, I "won" 2 games like this, including a game verse Atawa. I dont report this because it is not a win. If I were concerned about "winning" , I would not care how it happened, just accept it and move on. Call me old fashion, but I believe in EARNING what I get.
I check the demographics early in the game and try to get the other player to restart if they are too far behind early in the game. I dont get the same consideration.
For example, in game league a few years ago, I played a 1 vs 2 battle with Kaak. (he was #1) I took his capital by 3600 bc via a chariot turn 1 and running it down a river system and then too another and just stumbled into his capital. This would have propelled me to #1. I did not report. I am sure he would not have reported if the shoe was on the other foot.
Does anybody get this?

Robbie won't be able to respond for a while...

He's restricted for the week. And his restriction will last even longer if he doesn't agree to follow the rules of this site in the future.

1 more thing. I have 4 unfinished games. 1 of which is with Martin and , win or lose, I could care less about reporting it. The other 3 have exactly 0 chance of being finished. In each game I have a gigantic lead, 2 I have a 2-1 city lead and the other I have enormous and unmatched capabilities. All three of these players have been on line and have avoided thier fate on several occasions. I refuse to chase down players for a game. I will offer once, but when rejected expect the other player to follow up on it. (They would if they were ahead)
I could play a tiny, 3 billion board , all land with many huts and play 30 mins till its completion and do the same thing every game and ignore things like trade, advanced tech, wonder building, sea warfare and government changing but isnt this what civ is really about?

Not to worry, Alexander, I doubt that it would be interesting as a vast majority of the time I would bury you.
Empty people make useless insults.
And their are many out there that enjoy games with me cause they know, things being equal they will have to work extremely hard and think and be creative to win.
And if that is being a fool, thier is no fool like a Strat fool.

As long as they are consistent... sounds ok to me.
I can understand if you are playing in a ladder that they would want at least a reasonable start. As long as people agree up front... that's cool.

When I duel with war, we may start a lot of times until we both agree that neither is screwed. Otherwise, we are just going to waste a few hours going through the motions... and it's not fun

My God, has Hell froozen over? Has France agreed to attack Iraq? Ming made a lucide and inteligent argument and understands the entire point of this thread and agrees with The King.
God forbid whats next? We actually play a game of Civ vs each other??

I only agree if it is a consistent rule excepted by all in the ladder, or you agreed up front

If indeed that is you general honorable style of play (which seems to be the case from what people say) I would hope others would follow your lead. If the other person was aware of this and is just whining... shame on him. If the other person wasn't aware up front, then it's just a matter of miscommunication.

And again, I doubt we will ever play, because we both can't stand the settings the other uses While you may play for glory, to me, it's only a hobby, so I play with my friends who can stomach the same settings
I want to have fun when I play...

Don't you mean lewd, not lucide? What else could "When I duel with war, we may start a lot of times until we both agree that neither is screwed. Otherwise, we are just going to waste a few hours going through the motions... and it's not fun" possibly mean?

From his posts it seems Strate would be happier finding a group like Mings, albeit one that plays 2x2x King. It is a shame, but make the game 'serious' by playing on the ladder and players aren't going to always play for fun, and restart when the other player is screwed........that is to be expected.

In duels it's easier to have a restart rule. In a four man game it would take forever before someone wouldn't want one.

Even so IIRC you have said several times that you restarted because someone's 1st or 2nd settler got mashed early on.

When it's a unanimous, yes. But not everyone always agrees so I couldn't call it a rule. More of an agreement.

I donīt need this rule if i play with players which want fun in a good game. Who need wins in 3600? Who can say iam proud of it or i earned these points by playing smart strategies. If u need it - take it. But donīt call the other a loser.
Itīs not a question of rules its a question of honor i agree in this terms to strate.
(will i get banned for this? Hope not.)
