2 computers 1 PTW CD?
I have 2 computers at home connected with a home LAN.

Has anyone COMPLETED a game of Civ3 PTW by launching PTW using the CD on one computer, removing the CD once in the multiplayer local lan lobby, and then using the CD to launch PTW on another computer, and start a game playing the first computer? Last night I tested this for a few turns and it worked fine (other then the unit movement lag everyone complains about). What I DON'T want to happen is to play for several hours, and then all of a sudden the game decides to do a security check to see if the CD is in the drive, and if not shut the game down. BTW, saving frequently and restarting repeatedly doesn't appeal to me either if anyone suggests that as a work-around.

What I have had success with is burning a Civ 3 PTW copy (on a Mac) and launching using the original copy -- then switching to the burned copy. Something to try, perhaps...dunno if it'll work for you.

I have tried this and discovered that you only need the CD for the initial load up. Just load up one game, transfer CDs, then load up on the other computer.
