Thanks for post Berz

SRH is willing to keep playing The Russians as long as they survive. He's a good sport. It's all part of the interest and fun of the game... LOL

In other games Trev has been a good trading partner but in this game he took a dislike to the Kings Cross kid

And in another game he took a dislike to the Melbourne Kid. A pattern is emerging.

Oh well, I was saddened to find the Russians on the only nearby river system so I'm not about to let someone else move in there, especially someone so untrustworthy.

I did not take a dislike to the Melbourne Kid. The Melbourne kid attacked me and has maintained the state of war ever since. The attack was unprovoked and therefore does not fit any pattern of aggression by me.

As for my attack on the Russians, they were attempting to restrict me to enough territory for about 5 cities only and attacking was the only option to gain enough territory for a suitable number of cities

You see finbar, what you got to realise is that if you offer peace to Trev, his refusal does not constitute war...

Huh? If you refuse peace to Trev he takes that as an act of war. Most players do.

He attacked me when I was afk in one game for that reason. We then did a treaty and it was okay.

Your peace offers are worthless until you demonstrate you can be trusted. I think there are 2 games where we are still at peace which give you the opportunity to do this.

In the meantime I will do what I have to in order to defend my borders.

Ok guys,
I take it that we play normal time this Saturday, then we switch to new times. Australia goes off DST and Northern Hemisphere goes on.
This means Aussies are an hour later and Euros an hour earlier causing a two hour differential. Basically it's Saturday afternoon in Aussie anyway so the Aussies should be OK to play as soon as the Euros wake up on Sat morning? Not sure about Berz?

I think,

Current start time has been: 7:30am GMT which is 6:30pm for Aussies.

Suggest start time of no later than: 8:00am GMT = 9:00am GDST which will be 6:00pm for Aussies.

BUT, on April 5th (Saturday week) I'm not available because I'm doing battle over finbar's dinner table with Horse and salt shakers.... Can we give it a miss for that one week? I very rarely go out...

LOL!

In that 2x game I offerred you peace and you accepted it; then a few turns later you atacked and killed a hut city without any negotiations whatsoever!!

BTW I think we are at war in ALL of our games except the three way with finbar...

Holland goes over to summertime in the night of saturday/sunday so basicly we start at the same physical time as last week right?

The statement has been made that I consider a refusal of peace treaty an act of war.

This is simply not true. However if there is a refusal of a peace treaty AND an army within my city radius I will certainly consider attacking that person as a defensive measure to protect my city

Newsflash: Deitians break tradetreaty.
560AD: Deitians break tratetreaty with Dutch.

As a responce the Dutch goverment issues the following statement:

As a result of the blatant violations by Deitian caravans of the negotiated trade contract the Dutch goverment sees no other option then to stop further transactions and cancel any other treaties with Deitians.

As the Deitians have proved themselves untrustworthy people the Dutch goverment claims the right to take every meassure to make sure Deitians will no longer pose a threat to Dutch interests.

Diety I think you are
wrong about 6 PM aussie time if we start 8 AM GMT+2. You have to check it so you show on right time! If you start playing 6.30 PM and europeans 8.30 AM before the swap of daylight savings, your start time MUST change 2 hours compared to europeans start time after the swap.

Deity has given an one hour time differential compared to GMT which is correct. This consists of 30 mins advance for Aussies and 30 mins delay by GMT time.

In addition to this, northen hemishere people will need to make allowance for daylight saving when they calculate their start time, ie start an additional hour later by their summer time clocks

As Diety post above current start tome for Euros are 8.30 AM and it's 6.30 PM for Aussies. After the time change it MUST be 4.30 PM for Aussies if euros keep their start time and NOT 6.30 PM. This buz the time diff change 2 hours. It means if we start 8 AM GMT as Diety suggests above it means a start time 5 PM for Aussies and NOT 6 PM as he says! You don't catched that error trev?

I suggest we use the start time: 8 AM for Euros (I and Atawa have same timezone) and 4 PM for Aussies. Berz have to compute his start time....

The suggestion of a 4pm start for most aussies is earlier than I would like to begin the game. The start time should be no earlier than 5pm EST Aust time (This is 4.30pm CST Aust for me) and I would prefer a bit later than that myself
