Mods, quite frankly I don't think that the several last posts qualify as "cool military pictures".

If the posters in question wish to post their pics, they should start their own "the horrors of war" thread.

I didn't open this thread to see what they posted. To do that, I can just turn on TV.

Isn't that what the cool military hardware is all about? There is always a recieving end, and you have to deal with that too.

Don't worry Siro, you'll have many more cool military pictures in the next weeks on TV than horror pics. The later pics were for educational value : not every country shows what it looks like on the recieving side.

What the hell has Poly come to when we can't even have a decent 'splosions thread without people *****ing and moaning? Fer crying out loud people, why don't you just head on over to the next Hot Babes thread and post pictures of battered women or some ****, and then get up on your high horse and say something like "Exploitation of women is never sexy..."

Anyway, posting from school at the moment. I'll try to find some cool pictures when I get home in five hours.

Yeah, it's from the Battle of the Gulden Spurs (1302)

I don't think there was any relation between the Flemish and the Norwegians, the lion on a coat-of-arms was pretty common back then

We still use a black lion on a gold background

And this is a picture from a French manuscript after the battle, portraying the Count of Flanders as one of the horsemen of the apocalypse

I think this thread shows something. It shows a little aspect about human nature that cannot be denied.

Think about it.

You guys post pictures of this stuff, yet I'm called a cynniccal murderer, and a nazi.

GePap, for one, putting much worse than I did.

Guess it depends on who does the posting.
It also depends on who looks at it.

Read up people, if you want this thread to stay alive!

Here are the rules for military/weapons photos as I have just arbitrarily made them up, and as I shall equally arbitrarily enforce, with my customary brutality and lack of interest in discussing decisions once made.

Rule 1: No dead bodies. Violation of this one will get you a few days off, unless it's a crispy critter, or there are guts all over the place, or similar stuff, in which case violators will get several weeks off. You can find all the gore and body count pics you'd ever want all over the net, it doesn't need to be posted here.

Rule 2: Pics in this thread will be confined to the current conflict, and current equipment of the combatants therein. If you want to start another thread for other pics, do so, but don't run amok with new threads for everything.

Dear spiffor, if you'd like educational pictures about the real recieving ends of this conflict, I would suggest pictures of kurds, or of Iraqis, that have been killed, tortured and mutilated.

During my education, I saw many many pictures from the Nazi death camps. I think that those pictures, rather than pictures of injured german soldiers, reflect better the "recieving end", and portray correcly why sometimes war is a necessity.

MTG I don't think its right to show war pics without dead bodies.

This isn't a game. War is serious business that results in death.

Do not cover up the truth!
