Where a shirt to work that says, "Saddam isn't so bad, give peace a chance!"

Nearest college is 60 miles (nightschool sucks at that distance) and we have gotten a "new management style
" at work, which works out to be don't spend any money and harass the employees to make up for short staffing.

Well, they're really going to be short-staffed in 2 weeks

Yes, with the economy/job market being bad, it's quite easy to abuse employees now. (where are they going to go) I was disgusted the other day when I heard a fellow manager say "F**k um, what are they gonna do, quit?"

But those that abuse will eventually pay the price when things get better.

Yup, or Form a union, in a big shop.

This is a small shop, was 5 programmers, 3 Techs
now 1 (me), soon zero. That leaves the manager,
(who can't program even a query) and the operators.

4 Programmers and 3 techs quit.

Think they would have clued in about 2 or 3.

Ever see Fight Club?

Or, introduce your boss to your imaginary friend Harvey, and that Harvey has been doing some work for you around the office and you think it would be a good idea to hire him on as an aide.

Yes, it never ceases to amaze me when people are bolting left and right, that upper management never seems to blame the manager. The corralation should be obvious.

Good one Japher, I'll have to remember that one.

We've had 6 managers in 4 years.
3 ex-programmers - quit
2 shopforemen/project managers -fired

Big crosshairs on #6 on.

They asked me twice, but my terms are too... unpalatable.
