Did a bunker buster go off in Saddam's panties?
Is he dead, hurt or uneffected, your opinion?

Wounded, in my opinion. There have also been several eyewitnesses who allegedly saw Hussein being carried on a stretcher w/ an oxygen mask to a vehicle, and driven away.

I think he's wounded as well. Even that is an accomplishment, considering how advanced the German-made bunker he was in is...

Thanks Germany!

I whish the WH would just shut its mouth and operate under the assumption that he is fine until they KNOW otherwise.

I don't think he is dead, otherwise I don't know.

We have another threaf about this though...

Pentagon: Saddam wounded; Iraq denies
21-03-2003, 20:50

The Pentagon on Friday evening announced that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was wounded in the American air attack two days earlier. The Iraqi leader was the target of the air strike at the start of the war, which was carried out after intelligence information was received on his location.

Iraq said Saddam had survived the U.S. attempt to target him directly on Thursday.

Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed al-Sahaf has acknowledged that one of Saddam's homes was hit in Thursday's bombing but said the Iraqi leader survived the opening salvo.

"They targeted the houses of Saddam Hussein and his family, but they are safe. They are safe," al-Sahaf said Friday. "God has protected them."

ABC Television reported Friday evening that witnesses said they saw the Iraqi leader being taken from his home on a stretcher, and that he was wearing an oxygen mask. The report also said that Saddam was not taking part in making decisions in the country.

Banana :
I don't know if he was in the bunker or not, and I don't know if people there were affected by the bombs or onot, and, and...
I won't rely on rumors, even those who are widely spread by the media. Journalists have hours of screentime to fill, they'll say about anything to keep the public interested.

I'll wait for the end of the war, for the official version on when and how Saddam was caught, if it happened. Not that it will have to be true, but at least it would be a commonly accepted information.

I'll try to find some info on the net about it. A guy was describing it on CNN the other night and it is really an impressive piece of work. Too bad it belongs to one of the biggest pieces of **** on earth...

Verto, thanks for the link. Someday we'll find out the pentagon's source...I'll bet it's one of his family, maybe even a son.

The company built Hitler's bunkers.

I find that very funny for some reason.

Details of the Hitler-style bunker, built for the Iraqi dictator in 1982 during the war with Iran, have been revealed.

Oh please. Considering what our attitude/involvement with Iraq was in 1982, criticizing a German firm for making the bunker is patently ridiculous.

How did I criticize them? If you read my previous posts, it should be clear that I thanked them. Sir Ralph understood...

As it turns out, the bunker had a spa, so the bunker buster might not have gone off in Saddam's panties. Sorry Boris.

Hello Lancer!

Just in case you want to know, I'm the only one (so far) to have voted for Saddam being healthy.

Tariq Aziz was reported to have either been killed or caught by the Kurds. Those rumours were proven to be untrue. The Coalition has been bombarding Iraq with leaflets and radio messages (spreading all sorts of rumours). No doubt, one of those rumours is that Saddam has been either been killed or wounded. I'm not surprised. Propaganda hard at work to get the Iraqis to stop fighting. But in all honesty, the Iraqis, I believe, are too tired of living under Saddam to fight for him, hence, the mass surrender.

Sure Dom, I see the potentially life saving advantage, military advantage of either getting Saddam or getting Iraqis to BELIEVE Saddam has been gotten. Same difference really. Agree fully

Good for you Saddam. I like to swim too.
