Are Civ 3 savegames compatible with Civ 3: PtW?
Hey all, I couldn't find any mention of this anywhere else on the forum (surprisingly enough), so I'm starting a new thread to ask. My question is: Are savegames from the original Civilization 3 (most recent version) compatible with Civilization 3: Play the World v1.21? In other words, can I take a savegame from a game I was playing before I got ahold of PtW, transfer it into my PtW savegame directory, and pick up where i left off, only in PtW, rather than in the orginal Civ 3? Thanks.

*Hopes this isn't a stupid question or one that's already been answered*

In theory they are. I have used Civ3 saves in PTW. I would be worried about the versions of the patch.

Hm, I never tried to do that. After all, you can still play the original Civ3 game using the Civ3 CD-ROM, and I did not know that the PTW improvements and additions could be used in a Civ3 saved game, as vmxa1 said.
