There are lots of factors involved in a LD relationship.
a) If you want it
b) If you can take it
c) If she wants it
d) If she can take it
e) How often you get to see each other
f) How many resources you have to pull it off
g) How jealous you are
h) How jealous she is
i) How long you whine about being alone while shes gone
j) How lonely she feels while being abroad
and so on.

I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm saying its a real ***** of a situation and good luck.

And as far as how to dump your girlfriend... I didn't say dump her. I said set her free to live her life, and let the relationship happen for as long as it wants to, or you can bare it.

Hey LTEC! what is your general feeling on "monkey bar" girls? You know the ones that won't end a relationship until they have ahold of their next one.

How common is this? Why would I want to go out with some girl who is making it known to me that she is extremely interested while at the same time has a boyfriend? Right off the bat there is a big strike against her. How can you trust somebody like that? I know I couldn't.
Its common both in men and women. Presumably their behavior rationale happens the same way corporate whoring happens, but it has other obvious underlying reasons.

Don't go having a relationship with someone whose behavior you can't respect.

Oh, right, that sounds more preferable
Good enough advice and questions, I'll just have to see how it progresses though. If I start becoming an angsty 20-year old teen, just give me a slap

How do I prove my argument to him that if he loves me, he'd swallow?

That's called manipulation, not love.

Word, thanks sister I agree.

Also, sorry for implying it was a female thing only.

From one parent to another:

Does your child obey one parent more than the other? Sophie is far more obedient with me, and less "whiny", than she is with her mother. Any suggestions as to how Laura can get Sophie to mind her?

Yes he is. But it is parenting styles and the way kids perceive what which parent will do.
No way to know if it will work but she can change her reactions more to the way you react and you can do it like she does.

Ian whines when i take him to get haircuts but is all nice when Michael takes him.

Have yet to give Sophie a haircut - I know that if I went 18 months without one, I'd be ****gy as all hell. But she's just all precious with her curls and everything.

Laura says my "I'm serious" voice makes even her jump at times. I don't tolerate whining, and Sophie knows it - if I say "Hush!" and look her in the eye she will stop crying*... and the one or two times she didn't, I started counting: 1.... 2.... and she always stops before I get to 3.

She is such a doll. We tell her all the time that our lives are better with her in it, and while she likely doesn't understand the words, she does understand the emotions behind such sentiments. Right now she's in my lap, watching me type and playing with a CD case, being all sweet.

*Yes, I know the difference between "real" crying and "complaining" crying.
