I don't get espionage
I've never really tried espionage actions before. I don't know why, I just was never interested. But I completed the intelligence agency wonder and I've wanted to do them now. I'm in the space race and I want to check on the progress of the Egyptians. But it says I need to 'plant spy'. How do you do this? I also heard about stealing plans and maps, making propaganda, sabotage, etc. and I don't know how to do those either. All it says I can do is investigate city and steal technology. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

You have to plant a spy to do all other stuff, because stealing tech and investigating cities your ambassador can do. If you have vanilla Civ3, then you have to go to your city which built the Intelligence Agency and right-click on it. Then you go to the Conduct Espionage option or something like that and you'll have options of countries that you can plant a spy. The rest you already know.

If you have PTW, you plant a spy in the same screen that you build a embassy.

Don't worry. The only dumb question that you have is the one that you don't make.

Don't forget that vast amounts of cash is required.
Lots of money, but it still may be cost effective to steal some techs (have never really checked) as opposed to buying them.
Just have a good military to deal with the inevitable incident.

Espionage is not worth my hard-earned cash.
