What's our difficulty level?
Easy to understand poll - the higher the difficulty the more advantages the AI gets (or the less disadvantages they get/the less advantages we get). From lowest difficulty to highest the options are:


Chieftain
Warlord
Regent
Monarch
Emperor
Deity
Random
Banana (abstain/don't care)

The first SPDG, where we won by Diplomatic means (yet domination would have been possible had we had the will to play on!) was on Emperor.

You have the standard 5 days.

Certainly nothing below emperor. This is a learning experience after all. Deity may have too much unhappiness to make for a fun game (er no pun.. err GAHJHJH I 'm not making a joke! *escapes*).

Could someone list major differences between emperor and deity?

The AI bonus on deity is so high, I have yet to hear even a builder say building is a viable choice on deity. Let's have more options beyond bloodthirsty warmongering; emperor.

I would love to see a deity win, even if it means a warmongering option only.

with good planning we can beat the AI , okay , they start with more units , but then there is nothing for a long time , what is 12 cities with one unit in them , you can take them with two swords , ......

I'm not saying we can't beat the AI at deity; if a single player not MMing every detail can, so can we. I just feel that choosing deity resigns us to being bloodthirsty warmongers all game; while plenty of SPers seem to be able to roll over the AI with Tanks, rolling over other the other civs with libraries seems to not even be an option on deity, whereas we were able to build for a while on Emperor.

I have won 2 times on deity. Only 2 times out of a hundred or so tries. You need to have excelent FAM skills, and know when to attack or not. War is the best way, but not the only way. UN vote was one of the two wins - I played spain and had lots of culture and gold. THe other was domination, on a small map both times. This will be tricky. I say go for it... and don't be to surprised if we loose.

Deity pretty much ensures constant warfare, which significantly slows down the game, and pretty much prevents any type of builder strategy. That's why I'm against it.
