Frankly, I think Deity with a whole bunch of enemy civs and raging barbarians is absolutely insane. It's not a challange, it's a nightmare.

Thanks.. that explains the things I saw when testing the map.

Do the numbers above (in the quoted bit) apply to both AI and humans? (I suppose not)

No. With the exception of the govt. transition time (which applies to the AI only), the AI plays on Regent, and uses those numbers.

With all those extra units, and with 24 civs on a non-pangaea map (a map that contains quite a lot of water), Apolyton is going to be chopped into tiny banana bits.
