/me grabs his club

Hey!! Who turned off the music!?!

I think we should be a bit more hardcore about it than the hawks were, if we DO make a party. None of this trying to sound centerist crap, all out force the world to bow at our feat platform, perhaps?

BTW, you asked us to wake you when we started handing out cities in GoW. It is time...

What would a DIA thread be without us warmongers keeping it topped for you anyway?

That sounds almost noble.

How about blood guzzlers or baby eaters or something sounding more graphic to let people know that you really mean buisness.

I just finished a game as the chinese where I got 4 GL's by 500 AD mainly because I built an army/Heroepic with the first one. I can't remember a single army in the last game.

I liked the stated intent of the DIA way back when. I would join this one, but the last one didn't remain true to its ideals most of the time. My question is why should I believe this one would?

Choose a new name, at least.

How about a vague, cool-sounding name, like Valhallan Architects (yes it sucks, but you get the idea), rather than some bland, meaningful name (democratic industrialists).

I'm a little tired of the "hawks". Why don't they relise that the best way to fight a war, is to have a strong infrastucture, were you can pump out units at will, and delevire them to the front effectively.

Its like we have an enoromous false dichotomy running around this form!

right. you try playing the first demogame the way tass wanted to, and not research warrior code, the wheel, or iron working, until after writing.

build all the damn temples you want.

Actually my post was serious. Though it seems clear you completly missed the point.

To your reply let me just say - QED.

QED indeed.

My comment was about false dichotomy. Not arguing for or against war. But the implications are, as I stated earlier, a strong infrastructure produces more...including military units. The speed of production can also mean that only a basic standing army is required, as you can quickly churn out additional units. Better science also means better military units.

My post was serious. I think it is sad that some people felt the need to threadjack this thread like they did in the last game. And, no, I am not asking for a response by said threadjackers.

I support the concepts of the old DIA, even if it didn't stay true to them. Perchance, the new DIA, or whatever it will be called, will do a better job.
