I didn't see MOMA listed. I rather enjoyed the exibits there the last time I was in London.

Take in a show in the West End.

Go to the Pubs.

If you only have a couple of days, there is plenty to do without leaving town.

... & I don't think anyone from Apolyton has officially stalked Prince William yet; mind you I haven't heard from Starchild in a while... isn't he in London?

MoMA? Are you sure you're not mixing it up with New York? Easy mistake to make!

I live in York and I say it's horrible, with England's most elephantiatic and ugly mediaeval cathedral, dull buildings and a horrid faux city wall. Definately not worth the trip- if you want to travel go to Bath or somewhere instead.

I live near York an I like it, I've never quite got why Bath is thought of good

And Southerners still don't know how to pronounce it.

It's Bath. Not Barth.

Coventry apparently used to look like York and Chester and then Goerings boys paid a visit, after the war it got rebuilt and therefore looks like ****.

Unless he was aiming for stratford and got lost

I like Coventry cathedral. Not a patch on, say, the Mountain Church in Helsinki, but still a magnificent piece of contemorary church design.

Chester is good if you like Roman historical stuff, and its still very much done up in a medeival fasion. Its got a castle, although, you should see some of the castles in Wales if you like that kind of thing.

Here in Newcaste there are a lot of castles and again Roman historical sites (Hadrians wall) although, its not much of a wall now .. Alnwick has the castle where some scenes of Harry potter were shot ..

York is very similar also ..

If you like night life, Newcastle and Manchester are also good places to visit.

Why not pop across to Dublin also ..

Dont go to the brighton pier. Its a monstrosity. An affront to all that is good and holy in the world.

I couldn't wait to get off it and felt a weight lifted from my shoulders when i did.

Hasn't the Brighton pier burnt down about 3 times and could fall into the sea (again) at any moment? Or am I thinking of a different pier?

We stopped in Coventry for the night. Went and saw the bombed-out cathedral, and the new one, and then it was to the hotel, out the next morning. Didn't see much of the town itself, but I've no interest in going again.

Are there any of the huge Victorian estates open for touring outside of London?

Loads.

Get a national trust guide when you get to London, you can be in the most grimy northern industrial area and round the corner is some huge mansion.

Probably closer to 2 hours.

I lived in Southampton for 3 years while at Uni (Dr.Spike still lives there - maybe PM him about it) and I honestly can't recommend it. I thought it was a bit of a shithole.

If you want to go down to that area because you're interested in the Navy then Portsmouth would be better than Southampton.

Another for the London Eye. On a good day, the views are excellent, try to book in advance to avoid the queues though.

Get hold of a copy of Time Out which lists pretty much everything going on for the week ahead (available from any newsagent/paper stall in London). It comes out each Tuesday. (You might also try their website http://www.timeout.com/london/).

I bet I know more about the London borough of Bromley than you though.

But then that is not really a major acheivement.

Yep, we all know why that might be...

To be fair, I have been through it a few times.
