I think it's wrong... period... not much more to elaborate on. Call me selfish, but my organs are mine. If I want to donate them upon my death, that's my business and my decision. Not the states. If I lived in Israel, upon my death, I would give instructions to my family to destroy my body rather than have the state harvest my organs. It's a principality thing. Apparantly you guys don't understand.

I didn't know that dead people had property rights. I guess you learn something new every day.

Would you be happier with the whole thing if the state had an organ tax? Y'know, where you (the beneficiaries of your estate) paid a tax for every organ that you (they) refused to donate?

That would be just as wrong... and what about if I die in an explosion? Do they still have to pay the tax because my organs couldn't have been harvested?

Sure, ever hear of an estate tax? Are you going to instruct your relatives to blow up your property so that the state can't get its grubby paws on any percentage of it?

So you're opposed to estate taxes in general, or only estate taxes that you arbitrarily disagree with?

Use some common sense. If you're blown up with your house, then your house is not taxed with your estate.

I'm opposed to estate taxes that are based upon the conditions of whether or not someone donates organs, numbnuts...

It wouldn't be a ig explosion, just big enough to get everything messy
Why do ppl always want to tax things? Wouldn't it be better to reward than to punish?
Why not give ppl a tax break if they donate their organs instead of taking way from those because they don't want to give away pieces of their body?
What about for people who only have one kidney, or parts that just cannot be donated? Would they get taxed because they ruined their longs by smoking, or liver by drinking?
This is actually really sick.

Ding, four posts to an ad hominem. Fez would've beaten you to the punch -- you're getting soft.

I laugh at your opinions, and by doing so I discredit them.
All you're basically arguing is that you should be allowed to take your property with you to the grave. I thought that we'd ended that practice with the fall of the ancient Egyptian empire.

This is surreal. Is this really you, Sava, the communist, claiming that it is immoral for the state to tax your property? Is it? Did somebody hijack your Poly account, or are you just a hypocrite?

Fabrication? Learn to count. You made four posts between my entry in the thread and your first ad hominem. You're getting slow, that's all -- I remember a time when your first post would have been a rolleyes + ad hominem. You just aren't putting your heart into it anymore.

I want to donate my organs to the worms, that is my choice... It should not be dictated (that word always makes me laugh) by some government, they don't own me know, and the don't own me when I am dead.
What gives them the right? oh, yea, nothing!

If you want to continue along this threadjack because your argument is wrong, that's fine... but don't try to backpeddle. You clearly said I had four ad hominems... and that simply isn't true. I wouldn't even classify "numbnuts" as an ad hominem. It's a general term. I could have said "slick", "slappy", "jerky", "honey", or any other non-descript word. To be honest, I don't know enough about you to form a personal attack.

How do you get this from "four posts to an ad hominem?" Four posts, Sava. Not four ad hominems. Four posts. They're different terms.

What you talking about, Willis? I'm not the one who doesn't know the difference between a post and an ad hominem.
BTW, you never did address the fact that you're a hypocrite.

Of course! Forget double taxation, this is triple if not quadrouple taxation. The government just likes to think they can take money anytime it changes hands.
Thank god for trust funds...
By the way, demanding someones physical self is far different from demanding their monetary wealth...
