100 years from now Americans will find it hard to accept that we practiced abortion just as we find it hard to accept that our forefathers practiced slavery in their time.

It is interesting how the next 100 years will bring about the destruction of all those ideas we currently disagree with, isn't it Loin?

I think that in 100 year people will be surprised...

... that many of us would refuse to genetically improve our children, at least for the sake of removing the chance of birth defects.

... That Europe was so irreligious.

... How China didn't take over the world.

...F***ing bastards. My world's falling apart cause they were so negligent about climate change, global instability, and deficet spending.

After all, I complain about how people 50 years ago didn't plan ahead for 2003, so in 2103 I expect they'll be complaining about how we didn't plan ahead for them.

That you needed to type to post online

That people believed in "race'

That fats were demonized, as well as sugar

That we wasted so much that we scoured the oceans of large fish.

That any listened to country music.

That doesn't bother me. I'm a centrist or at least that's what all the political surveys call me.

Are there any of these surveys that I could take on the net? I've never decided where I am. That's probably because I always change my opinions a lot. I think any economic system is fine as long as it's not communism. I wouldn't work any harder and produce more if the only incentive was to help my country.

They'll be amazed that we would believe them to be snooty little *****es who have nothing better to do than to criticize people who lived 100 years ago without even considering placing their actions in a proper historical context.

Sure it is. It is the "technology is the answer to all things" belief. Hopefully, it will be replaced by "technology used wisely is the answer to most problems."

It's the same belief. Don't blame technology, blame the people that use that.

Technology IS the answer to all things, except those that are about pure interaction between humans. ( Naturally. )

... that we used such primitive tools such as "keyboards" and "mice"

... that we believed in the intangibility of borders

... that we treated animals as inferior while they are clearly equal (don't blame me, I don't believe in this crap, but it can happen)

... that we allowed Cell phones to give cancer to 5% of the population

... that we didn't do anything about AIDS in Africa

... that we were so uptight we couldn't understand cloning, genetic engineering, man/machine interface, and even abortion or euthanasia without using some outdated religious morals.

... that our technology relied on human manual work so much

That people actually believed in the creationist theory.

That we thought the Matrix movies had amazing special effects.
