To me, it seems like a form of welfare for those who are alredy in a sh*tload of money. It's grossly unfair, and a waste of money that can go elsewhere.

In order for welfare to be ethical really, I think it should only provide resources for those who NEED it.

The logic the politicians are using is that these companies will go bankrupt or move their opporations unless they recieve a subsidy. Of course if taxes & red tape were lower then they wouldn't be competetively handicaped and so wouldn't have grounds to ask for a subsidy.

That's just plain untrue. The US Labor Party, of which I am a member, has a national Righ to Work Amendment campaign going on. All leftists argue not only for a right to work, but a right not to work, too.
